Messy desktop awards

Nothing wrong with being 15 - I have a couple of very good friends who are fifteen. The difference is you are equal to stupid and VERY immature. And it gets very very tedious.

Calling someone 'stupid and very immature,' whether or not its true, isn't terribly mature in itself. Relax, get over it. It's no big deal. Flames are silly. And this is supposed to be a topic about messy desktops, dammit.

My desktop used to be messy. Then I moved house. I still haven't built it back up to its former, uh, glory.
I do have a rather large pyramid-thing made of empty coke cans a little way to the side of my desk, however.

I used to have a crate with 144 empty twodogs bottles in it, does that count :D

I would be happy to oblige. Is the digital camera you're going to send me for free packed and ready to be delivered yet?

Cool wallpaper on that right-hand machine, bids.

An as extention to this topic can anyone post links to the most impressive desktop wallpapers?

I'm not a fan of them myself (paranoia over resources used on my old P166, 16MB machine) but if there's a truly pant-wetting one then I might reconsider.

To start the ball rolling (if anyone cares) I've found slightly groovy ones here and here.

/edit Oh! And my own Hitch-Hikers inspired one here

Yeah - that m/c is running XP Beta 2 :) - if you want the wallpaper I'll e-mail it to you - it's well cool.

TDC - might replace my big screen for an LCD, although peeps are tellin' me games play crap on 'em - can't really test the Linux LCD as it's only a real cheapo (>£190).

And no, I 'aint swapping it - I already have a mouldy bread collection - though probably not as large as yours :)

Anything else on offer ?

There we are, my lovely desk space as of 2 weeks ago. It's now newly cleaned and has a box of mini heroes on the top shelf next to my framed sound blaster cd!!!!

Enjoy!

Yes.

You are living in SIN my son. Run out and find an old P166 and install Linux or FreeBSD on it or suffer through 1,000,000 games of "Noah's Ark"

Mighty Midget - I'm married. One of my 6 pc's is being used by my wife (K6-2 450, 128MB ram, 6GB HD, SBLive, Stealth III S540) and another by my oldest daughter.

In my original post note "Home Office" - my wife likes the money I make as a network chappy - hence all the kit (although I do get the comments about the games kit :) )

Nothing wrong in putting old kit to good use :)

I have one main PC (Win2K, AMD 900MHz, GeForce2MX, 256MB blah blah blah), one shitty laptop (Win98SE - can't run WinMe) and one long-term girlfriend.

In my glory days I had two PCs and two laptops, Win98SE, WinMe beta, WinNT Server (for mah MCSE), Win2K beta and no girlfriend.

I think there is a link.

I also like Microsoft. They pay me money. Linux doesn't.
