50 slash, 50 dw, 28 Parry (possible higher for respec at 40 and with autotrain saving me some spec points...

... which is better?!?!?!

The parry looks pretty awsome at 44, but im not sure what the damage differance is between 44 and 50....

44/44/44=gimped

You will not parry much in rvr,not worth it.


Can still get 50 base parry with 28..... no point making dmg dealing class defensive.

The higher parry will be much more fun for solo in PvE and you will be able to kill harder mobs, but not so good for RvR.

As for the damage difference between 50 and 44 in main wepon skill, i've been working under the assumption that it's only 0.5% per point difference when total skill is above 50, but solid information on this is hard to find.

DS and diamond slash are well worth it, so get 50 50 28

The problem i see....

If u go slash u will miss the follow up af amethyst slash....

If u go thrust u will miss dragonfang, dunno how good a merc does evade, but i guess at least from time to time this style will be more than usefull.

Lvl 50 DW style.... dunno again how good that is, perhaps when going slash u will not use it that often, as the amethyst slash combo is an anytimer and the 50 dw is a positional (infront) which will be usefull in 1 vs 1 but not that often used when u play in grps and go for caster or healers, that will try to run away and so u could stop at 44 DW and get 37 parry....

At least my Zerker on Logres is skilled 50 sword, 44 LA, 37 parry and i like it. (perhaps when the lvl 50 Style with next patch will be in line with the snowsqall combo 50 LA will be better)... but this does not belong to here and i don't know again how good both can be compared.

Just max your damage output

No, chance to parry is halved against 2h as chance to block is halved against 2 weapons

Ive gone 50 slash, 44 dw (for the stunning style) and rest parry ^_^ I find that in duels with mercs, its usually whoever parries 1st who wins, due to the nasty stunning style (someone correct me if im wrong) i sacrificed an insignificant amount of dmg for a far superior parry which lets my low rr merc beat rr5 or higher ones

Looks like I was wrong when I suggested 1pt of skill in wepon only give 0.5% extra damage.

I just did a little test, 3 pts in wepon made 3.5% difference in wepon skill. As I understand it, that means 3.5% damage difference.

This thread is about 44/44/44 spec and people's views on it,by the way i heard it's like 6-12% damage difference from 44 slash compared to 50 slash i think that is true aswell.

Tbh the whole 44/44/44 against 50/50/28 debate depends largely on what you want to do after you hit 50, if rvr is your thing then go full offensive building up defense with ra`s.

But if pve/duelling floats your boat go 44/44/44 or alternatively roll a pally .
