Merc spec

Hello can any kind soul tell me a good spec for a lvl 50 Merc plz...Im thinking of lvling one up to 50.

50 thrust, 50 DW, 28 parry, race doesn't much matter, pick what you like the look of.

Thrust is FOTM to kill mids easier.

Im still in the thinking that:

Slash rawk overall
kicks sbs ass.
Nice anytime combo with amethyst/diamond
cooler weapons.

Briton/Highlander.

Briton for the looks
Highlander for the Weaponskill

and dont listen to shanes. he fall for the FOTM tactic and respecced thrust

Pfft fuck off, i was all 3 melee types before, you ass xD besides thrust is the best especially with 1.64 coming the slower thrusters... it does take getting used to though..

Max if i get time, playing hib excal a lot at the moment, it's very cool xD

By the way thrust weaps are better than slash ;d jambiyas suck, fine long dirks do not ^^

As a merc from playing experience for rvr:

thrust>crush>slash (damage wise)

pve:

slash>thrust(if you can dragonfang often)>crush

Styles do not matter so much in rvr if you can pull positionals off which is the key to being effective as a light tank class.

Train crush til lvl 40 and respec it, and put points into slash or thrust, whatever you decide. Will give you 30 parry instead of 28. If you want, you can also be semi-gimped and save points to lvl 44 for 31 parry.

50 slash/thrust or crush
and whatever u got left into parry


if u want group rvr merc go thrust and get PF asap

if u like to keel stealthers go slash and get Ip asap

but tbh i think we will be seein a lot of crush merc's soon seein as we get a 6 sec stun style that chains off a anytime in 1.65

lvl up in crush imho, it will slightly harder than slash but well worth it if u wanna re-spec to thrust/slash style u can get yr 31 parry with the auto trained points .

most rvr at moment is based around killin mids and mid chain is weak to thust so is fotm .. hibs dont show up taht much but hib havin /lvl 30 now and a more even population who knows maybe dem hibbies will be kickin more bootie soon when they ding 50
and thurst maybe not so appealing

Concerning the RA's, while PF is very good, you should put the first point into Determination. Atleast to lvl 4 imo. Then get PF.

90% sure I go Crush in 1.65 aswell. thrust is so not made for mercs imo and slash well its sooo basic and boring now after ages ages ages

Taunt is 2nd part of anytime chain so not the best to get aggro in a hurry.

Thrust best for getting aggro imo

DW has an anytime taunt so that's not really an issue.

A good merc doesn't bother with anytime styles

I mainly use pierce and flank in rvr.
