I think it's a good thing that big record companies go under, the more the better. It would help bring creativity and individuality back, instead of brand after brand.

It's not just big record companies though, a friend of mine runs his own Label/promotion/management http://www.eulogymedia.com/ and although not selling bucketloads of the last album, was doing ok, until the day it appeared on torrents when sales declined to almost nothing. These aren't the fat cats, it effects everyone, including the guys who just need the cash for studio time. It's a shame, it does seem that the internet has actually devalued music. Back in the day it was quite a major thing to go get an album/cd and people put value on the bands and music, but these days it's easy for a kid to have tens of thousands of songs, and they become a totally throwaway thing.

My mate works for Warner, he says the only way he makes money off the bands he signs is by fucking them over, he has no qualms with that, i have no qualms with pirating

Dont you remember MegaGame?!?! Man that was awesome, once you got the server to hold together it was a riot. 58+ player deathmatch.
I was wondering if Kimbles alleged sins might attract the death penalty? Just asking... you know....

But of course he was actually very helpful. The DDOS attack ended after I spoke to him on the phone. He said it wasnt him but he knew who it was. I was very nice to him and he said he'd ask the other person to stop the attack. 20 minutes later it ended. What a helpful chap he is. Thats it, helpful.
I remember discussing his recent car crash in which he totalled his new merc. His egotrip website had a picture of his car and of him being carried from it on a stretcher. This was a source of some considerable pride for him for reasons best known to himself. Anyway, nice man knew how to stop a serious ddos attack. I had to be nice to him repeatedly over the following months to ensure his friend didnt do it again.
