right, firstly they had that clown being a nonse in kids bedrooms advertising NOTHING. stupid.

then they go all *healthy* suggesting kids should run around a bit after eating their food (maybes they wouldn't have to if they hadnt been brainwashed into eating their fatty crap? )

now.. OMG!! BLASPHEMY!!! sandwich advert... u watch it next time when the guy says THE STOTTIE!

stottie? that is NOT A STOTTIE!!! at least do some fucking research u clowns (see my clever pun there? :p ) in fact u know what.. i suggest everyone goes down to MacIdiots and orders a stottie, as mentioned on said advert, then report em for breach of trade descriptions act.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

haha I noticed the lack of northern knowledge when they referred to stottie bread as if it was a sandwich as well :)

I myself have become enlightened and have cured my macdonalds addiction with Subways, a new sandwich bar thingy, miles ahead of macdonalds (imo), proper footlong sandwiches with all the added stuff you want, you can have it lightly toasted too :D

and the best bit is, they call thier sandwiches "sandwiches" (rather than "macTheLatestCraZe(tm)Burger") :D

Any fast food restaurant uses everything frozen, it's a lot cheaper to use.

On another note, there was a guy who did the subway challenge (identical to McDonalds Supersize me, so he ate everything from Subway for a month, etc), and he actually lost weight :p

Heh, okay. I've always enjoyed Subway more (especially as it's healthier :p)

Must admit that I just lured my friend away from Subway and into Mcdonalds yesterday :p

Its just classy - you go in there, order the basic type of sandwich (I always have ham :D) then you can get cheese on it, can have it lightly toasted so the cheese melts and the bread is nice and warm, you can have loads and loads of different salady add-ins (I have everything in mine :D) and then you can add a sauce as well, the fact that the salad doesnt cost anything to add means that you can go mad and try anything.

the ham looks and tastes good, so even if it is frozen or whatever it still looks and tastes just as good as the proper ham from the posh bit of the supermarket :)

also its nice that its all done "infront of you", without going round the back to make the burger like in maccy D's and always asking you what you want and how you want it.

its £3.80, and its worth it imo.

a mac donalds big mac meal is around £3.70, and half the time I finish eating it feeling like Im still hungry, after a subways footlong with everything in it (for 10p more than maccy d's) I actually feel full.

Only problem is that the Subway in town is closed on a Sunday so I had to have a Burger King. Don't mind their veggie burger but they give me the wind lol

subways arent tbh, the lettuce is from freezer bags pre shreded, infact go downstairs in your local subway theres a note on the freezer saying what temp. it should be at, it isnt, its above that. alot of the stuffs like that generally. now im not saying its bad particularly, it just isnt as healthy as they like to make out. there wholemeal breads decent tho :).

and best sandwich bar ive been to = obriens, expensive? yes, but not much more than subway + u get bigger sandwichs. infact there biggest sandwich is bigger than subways 12" and is probably cheaper :p

i guarantee the ham wont taste as good as the expensive stuff in supermarkets, thats a given, just like people who claim cheap bacon tastes just as good as expensive stuff. no it doesnt, thats why its expensive, better quality = more expensive (im not arguing wethar its overpriced just making a point). oh and if all the salads are frozen (i doubt they ALL are but some will be) i believe its after 15 minutes of storage it starts to lose various vitamins and nutritional value or whatever from the vegetable as alot of it is water or something (im sure if you search google you will be able to find this info, then again i read this sometime last year i think).

and if its £3.80 then obriens is cheape,r and bigger sandwich, and probably better for you.

nah its more expensive because of the label tbh :p

(clothing has same problem)

go look in waitrose and 90% of the stuff you can get cheaper in tesco, asda, or even god forbid in Lidl :p

(as a matter of fact Lidl sausages rock, taste MUCH nicer than the cheapo tesco ones...)

anyway subway is waaay too expensive for me unless i have my student vouchers :(

and the whole nutritional value thing... if you freeze something straight away (as in instantly) then it will be exactly as fresh as when you froze it, of course it will loose it AFTER its defrosted (the nutritional value)

or so im told :D

God I hate Mcds, thefood is proper crap, the only good gear is the breakfasts, double bacon-egg mcmuffin, freakin gorgeous

Love KFC,those crispy chicken strips...OK its ground down chicken guts dyed white, but theyve got the texture just right.

All this obsession with junk food at the moment is just bolx, its not based on actual facts just rhetoric and emotion, nothin wrong with bigmac and fries, actually a well balanced meal [whatever that actually means] everyone thhinks if their kids eat whats popularly described as wholesome food, their kids will be healthier..NO THEY WONT, it wont make the slightest difference, unless theyre eating so many meals they are fat and being fat is more of a appearance and mobilty issue than actually being dangerous to your health.

You dont get heart disease from what you eat, its in your genes.

hey! made this thread coz Macdonald where advertising stotties as a sandwich! unless they actually use a stottie as the bread for it, they aint got a leg to stand on! false advertising! sue em! i will, if i can be arsed, prolly next time i sign on.. maybes.. grr.

its rather like them selling a sandwich saying.. a nan bread!! yeah, just coz its bread dont mean u sell it. a stottie is something special, unlike anything else. if u live up north, u know difference between a sandwich and a stottie.

try going to Greggs in newcastle or summit.. and want some sandwich bread for home.. and NOT get a stottie.. cry a bit and say, i wanted a stottie.. they will just say.. shoulda said then.

a stottie, is NOT what they advertise on TV, they gonna get sued by proper stottie makers/eaters and not have a leg to stand on.. get in there! hehe

What the hell, Ronald MacDonald your BF or something? Few points,

1) If i buy a burger from macdonalds, im going to eat it, end of.

2) Its like pretty obvious that macdonalds stuff isnt daisy fresh, as the majority of it comes frozen, I just dont consider frozen food as fresh. Not much to prove really.

buy your bread at the baker,
buy your ham at the butcher
grow your own greens,
get some "home made" butter,

you'll have the best sandwich you ever tasted :p
