Martin's bakeries (North West England) make much nicer sandwiches as well although I must admit I have a real soft spot for the Subway Meatball Mariana. As for Stotties, all I can say is that until you have had a nice sandwich using a Stotty you haven't had the king of sandwiches ;)

kk 1st im with haarewin (except when the wind kicks in) wtf is a stottie??

2nd if i want a sodding sandwich i make it at home (tbh i am a sanger goddess mine rock>>subway) and guarenteed everytime its 100% nicer than anything i could have brought.

If on the other hand i want something i cant make at home then ill get fast food (and its usually cos ive got a craving for cheeseburgers that just wont go avay!) has to be burger king imo to me BK is soo much nicer than McD's and everytime i ate at McD's something horrible happened (last time i got soemthing from there i thought id get a milkshake just play it safe, the milk had gone off in the machine and solidified in to a stringy substance, man did i puke).

I never try and rationalise it or justify myself, its like hay im an adult i want a cheeseburger and fries, dont eat them every day, not even every week/month its just something i would like at this moment, i know its bad for me but hay QQ tis my bod.

One place i am very partial to is this little french patisarrie (sp???) just down my road they make little fresh quiche lorraine's that are beautiful and the cakes Mmm Mmm pecan slices there that'd make you cry, pear and almond tarts that when you bite them the pastry melts and i mean it just melts! and the chefs all wear those tall white chef hats and say "allo 'ow are you?" and "Av a nice day" and its not expensive either so tbh if im going to go somewhere to get my lunch i'll go somewhere where i can get stuff i cant make myself and where im not forking over my hard earned ching for something out of a freezer, bog standard generic cardboardy and served by some miserable sod in a paper hat.

technically its 'stottie cake' not just 'stottie', such unlearned people! :)
(yes yes i know i called it stottie bread earlier, leave me alone omg!! )

Basically its a kind of bread thats made in newcastle, has a special 'geordie' recipe to make it :) I believe its slightly 'thicker' than normal bread, hard for me to describe as its been years since I've had any. :(

present tence, EAT :) <barbarianpwned!>

havent had a stottie in years, dont think i liked them.

and same, i preffer home made sandwichs.

Wholemeal bread (its the best type!) or if im lucky to find it in tesco's, sunflower seed bread is yummy mcyummy!

chicken, light mayo, lettuce, thinly (thats the key) sliced tomatoe, and bit of cucumber.

then if your hardcore, blend it all togethar with some milk and MR it haha :D (im actually thinking of trying this now :|)

[edit] BTW cozak, saying frozen doesnt = fresh, then you have to accept your friends bullshiting you aswell since subway use frozen goods aswell.

and yeh, mcdonalds throw there frozen veg on the grill for the sandwichs :(
