This game is the best i played in a little while, clocked it once, on my way thru it again. The above picture is when youve emptied a clip into someone in bullet time, the camera does this crazy motion blur spin reload move and slows bullet time down even more and you reload before the casings from the last bullets hit the floor.

Its wicked, get it now if you liked the first one, its a little shorter but far superior. They should make more games this short yet enjoyable.

Only let down I think, is the fact that they obviously changed the look of the main character so much it isn't him anymore. :¬o

Yeah, this is true considering how close to the events of the first game this one follows.

Its bizarro, but also he looks like the lead in Mafia, Tommy was it? been a while since i played it...

How could we "get it now" when its not even out here officially until the 24th?

I have seen it in shops too. Most games/dvds/cd's are in shops at least a week before their official release, some just chose to sell them

It's shorter than the first you rekon Doomy? Pah, that was my main gripe with the original, just getting into it and its all ending. I thought from the blurb and the interviews they had listened to the public and made it longer :/

They got a proper actor in to do the scenes, which is why Max looks different.

Its seems a lot shorter but i was playing it all day yesterday after work (me loves half days). It certainly seems shorter but then fun days always go faster

Playing through the game again already is testament to the quality of it. Short sharp shock is the best describing words i guess. It freaks you out as it uses (maybe subliminal) references to the first game quite well like the room in the hospital that looks like your babys room in the first. And we all know what happeneded there

Anyways, dream sequence piccy, far less annoying this time round and utterly hypnotic

Because I have to wait till pay-day to afford this, I was looking around for max payne (1) mods. Dissapointed to find the Max Payne HQ had shut down due to database loss, there are other sources around but none as comprehensive. Hopefully MP2 will be just as popular amongst the mod community, kung-fu mod for mp2 anyone?

To be honest, a can't see all that much difference between this and the first game. There's a few new weapons and the Bullet Time has had a slight makeover.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great entertaining game. It just doesn't scream "Sequel" to me.

Apart from a few more extra game modes (Last Man Standing and another i forget) it certainly isnt a true sequel with 'NEW ENGINE' + 'DRIVE CARS' and 'LAZER GUNZ' but it tells a story very well and ive been itching for another MP game for ages.

The credits say there is a 3rd on the way too, by all means do not get this game if you hated the first one, but if you enjoyed it, its a far more polished version of the first one and lets face it, thats not all that bad

The engine has been upgraded a LOT.

It uses the same havok physics engine as HL2, and looks a lot nicer, its FAR more moddable, and its a whole new story. Fits the bill of a sequel to me.

It feels like Max Payne 1.6 rather than 2.0 to me. I really like it though, the story is great, the fact that you end up playing as Mona also helps.
The physics are wicked, not quite hl2 but its a big step none the less. Still, I'm really enjoying it so far, probably really short but I cant wait for the mods.

Sorry to nit-pick, but HL2 doesn't actually use the Havok physics engine - it uses Valve's own in-house engine.

Deus Ex 2 uses Havok though

Valve's engine whcih is simply a modified havok engine.

I guess they are waiting for the release of the game, and they can't exactly be thrilled that Valve have allowed their engine to be stolen.

Unlikely, as Deus Ex: Invisible War is on there, and that isn't due to be released for a good while yet.
