It's only stupid these days because of buffbots, chances are that any solo char you meet is buffed to the hilt. Making buffs ranged, levels the playing field for everyone.

Sc/mp armour tanks shouldn't be hard, they should be impossible for assasins. Assasin classes were made to take out casters and archers, not to melee anything in the game. Sorry of that ruins your impression of what an assasin is...there are no ninjas in daoc, if you want ninjas then click here

have mytic stated a assasins are NOT supposed to kill tanks?

this "caster kill tank, assasin kill archer/caster, tank kill all(?) thing" is just a myth :D

i belive that every class should be able too kill any class in the game.

edit: (im a ninja btw)

Hmmm you are obviously doing some thing wrong then, I have no problem at all killing casters with either my minstrel or friends infil unbuffed, altyhough im usually dead straight after as not many casters run alone.

Keep the feedback coming guys. Nice to see some solidarity from all three realms and some prominant players.

On what danyan said i would be more than happy to respec to a group friendly active healer spec as a cleric, gives you another option in what to play in RvR so i tend to disagree i think there would be a fair amount of people in situations where a grp needs a cleric they can use their old bot, providing mythinc give respec.

I personally think it goes against the traditional idea that an assasin can kill a heavily armoured tank. Might be sticking my head over the parapet but the odds should be in favour of a tank when in a straight toe to toe melee battle and buffing totally throws the balance of the classes out.

A big 100% YES !

BUT... make it like speedsong (maybe bit longer range) etc...or you can be sure i'm deleting my cleric right away...don't even wanna think about re-buffing every 5 sec cause player X had wandered off just a bit too far...and he lost all his buffs for 100th time in 1 hour.

As for my scout/mincer...it would mean i might stand a chance vs some classes solo for once...(well maybe 1.62 will make that possible also for my little scout)...but atm it's not worth playing here...i get my ass kicked over and over by buffed SB's anyway...

These ranged buffs would improve the game(play) A LOT...

but like most already realised...money > players opinions

Nice post anyway :p

so this makes like 95% YES 5% NO ? :p

not like you'd be able to solo a FG with buffs anyway. :)

I don't have a buff bot, ergo my answer is yes.

Yes

I'm lvling one atm and tbh I'd be very happy if I didn't have to lvl said buffbot to be able to compete with other assassins when my NS hits 50

I happen to think no even though i dont like the current buff system. I have a buffbot and the only reason i got one was so that i could compete with classes from other realms.

I beleive a better suggestion would be to put buffs on a timer of 30 mins or thereabouts. (thats not enough time to do anything significant in rvr). Alot of classes already have timed buffs so why not put them all on timers.

One of the main problem mythic\goa will have is that removing the bufbots will also hurting their income (yes i know its wrong but big companies think like that). They would probably look more favourably upon a change that does not reduce their income and increases customer satisfaction.

It is also probably alot simpler for mythic to implement timed based than range based.

NO

even atm 1 shaman cannot properly buff 1 fg (only 15 yellow doublebuffs, and casters need piety also). in few patches shamans will have to buff 8 ends too. that sucks.
to buff a group we will need 2 shamans, one in a group, and one at mtk.

ps. dont play my sb anymore, so dont care about stealth wars and all this stuff. let them keep their buffs, i dont give a shit.

Working on a bot but even I say Yes. If you want the benefit of buffs then the one buffing you should be visible and liable to attack like anyone else.

And besides, it doesn't even make sense, a person is 'concentrating' on keeping a spell up and active on someone they cannot even see?

ok lets look at it this way.

If they are made range sensetive.... then you will end up with groups of 7 infils/sb/ns with one buffer in the grp and they will camp somewhere using buffer as bait.... wow aint that gona be fun.
