It's only stupid these days because of buffbots, chances are that any solo char you meet is buffed to the hilt. Making buffs ranged, levels the playing field for everyone.
Sc/mp armour tanks shouldn't be hard, they should be impossible for assasins. Assasin classes were made to take out casters and archers, not to melee anything in the game. Sorry of that ruins your impression of what an assasin is...there are no ninjas in daoc, if you want ninjas then click here

Hmmm you are obviously doing some thing wrong then, I have no problem at all killing casters with either my minstrel or friends infil unbuffed, altyhough im usually dead straight after as not many casters run alone.
Keep the feedback coming guys. Nice to see some solidarity from all three realms and some prominant players.
On what danyan said i would be more than happy to respec to a group friendly active healer spec as a cleric, gives you another option in what to play in RvR so i tend to disagree i think there would be a fair amount of people in situations where a grp needs a cleric they can use their old bot, providing mythinc give respec.
I personally think it goes against the traditional idea that an assasin can kill a heavily armoured tank. Might be sticking my head over the parapet but the odds should be in favour of a tank when in a straight toe to toe melee battle and buffing totally throws the balance of the classes out.
