Mages, RE: Relics

I was wondering if anyone could help test the relic effects?

Using DDs, Bolts etc. <not debuffs, snares etc>

This will be a lot easier if you are level xx and manage to hit someone who you can later confirm is the same level and also, if you are full specced in your attack of choice.

If you are fully specced, with items, you should be doing 1.25x your listed damage <eg if you have a DD that does 100dmg, you should hit for 125dmg [excluding +int I believe]>.

This means that you should do 1.45x your listed damage with all the relics I think, unless there is a cap somewhere.

The +int bonuses should not be so significant as to upset such a major bonus as we get the relics, so it should be immediately visible.

<for reference purposes, you can also remove all buffs/items and see what your base int is, and what your int is when you attack>

I'm not sure whether it is a bug that is affecting my DoTs, as they are currently bugged and follow some 'special' rules anyway, or whether it is a cap which has come into play, but I noted NO change in my damage, and I cap everytime, so relics seem to do nothing for me.

Fully light based mages should have an easier time testing this as my nukes have a large variance.

Thanks.

The very max damage a spell will do is 3x its dd value, that is a hard cap and wil never be broken.

Test it by shooting grey con mobs round mag mell.

Nothing but spec and the spell you are using affects dots, int actually makes quite the big difference on DD spells.

Dots do NOT benefit from:
Acuity buffs
Int in any way
Relics
Realm abilites as mastery of the arcane, wild power or augmented acuity.

Dots are very special, they are also capped at 125% of the base damage.

Me for example does ~200% of my DDs WITHOUT relic bonuses on yellows, and there is no variance at all because of my high spec unless i hit high oranges and above.

Hope this clears some stuff up.

Edit: I do know however that level in someway does quite a difference when casting on really high purps, as with my spec dots i do REALLY crap damage on Grand Pookas while i still do the same damage as on greys when casting on Non-uber fins or other purps/reds.

We were xping on fins immediately before and after the relic raid and I can tel lyou there was a very visible difference. Obviously I can't give figures, but the mobs were going down noticably quicker...

Im doing 450-480 damage(about 80 or so is bonus damage, so about 380-400) on yellow/orange fellwood in albion.

Im using my lvl 35 spec 165 base damage DD. Got 48 modified light atm

I can't be arsed to do any calculations but the difference is, as said above, significant.

I can easily solo all orange mobs I think. I've tried one that was red to a lvl 49 which I don't think would've been doable woithout the relics.

I also noticed that I never hit for below 300 in RvR anymore, I experienced that on a few rare occasions before we brought the relics to where they belong ;)
