LPB servers? Please?

A thought, that came to me playing quake 2 tonight. Dont think im just moaning, its just that myself and i reckon a fair few other players are a tad pissed off with little-skill lpbs continuously 0wning the ffa servers - of course I'm not saying all lpbs are shit, a fair few are, but most are very good. Just a thought, that seperate servers would help? for lpb and hpw?
saying that, i just got me new modem and i now ping at 110-130 so im almost lpb any

its taking me ages to get used to it.
Anyway just a thought, and plz no moaning from lpbs or lpb lamers :/

So what makes an LPB, is it the PING or the connection type?

How are you going to enforce it, rely on peoples good-will or enforce a Nazi-style Min/MaxPing server setting?

I'm all in favour of a zero-tolerance server where using the following words or combination of words in Messagemode1 will get the offender booted off of the server:

"LPB"
"HPB"
"BFG"
"lag"
"laag"
"laaag", etc..
"llamer"
"camper"
"typing"
"PJ"

Having booted off all the whingers, the people left can actually enjoy the game.

Nice idea, I have a internal pace too.

But the LPB/HPB issue is going to be unworkable. As for booting ppl off because of what they say sounds very err, dictatorial.

Yeah, i agree about the lpb/hpb thing killing the game, it would be silly really - anyhow mr b - your idea does sound tempting, i mean, example.
You are a newbie to the world of quake 2. Your plan is to hang around a gun you know you are good with. You get the gun, and in doing so camp-frag a guy coming after you. He calls you a camping twat and says that he 0wns j00. I mean - 1. It puts new people off the game, we are supposed to encourage. Perhaps if we just pull them aside and say m8 - your not really supposed to camp the weapons, its not done instead of calling them a lamer, then maybe they will improve eh. Lets give the newbies a chance. Put it this way. Once we were all lame, all newbies and your a lying smeg if you say you have never camped a teeny weeny li'l bit once.
Help newbies get good, give them time, maybe one day they will 0wn j00, as the "l33t" guys put it. Some thought, eh.

Anyone remember the days when you didn't KNOW what 'ping' meant ?

Anyhow ... when ppl insult me I just usually thank them or agree , usually shuts them up (unless of course I'm in a bad mood where I tend to call someone a 'tart' ...)

Really offensive I know .. infact , I think I'll go wash my mouth out now.

Only been online 6/7 months and I had no idea for about the first 3. Didn;t know what ICQ was till I joined GA (seem to remember trying to feed Exocets ICQ number into gamespy...

)

i think that anyone with a ping of under 90 should have their own servers
most modem peep are on 150 - 250 pings and people who say they are on modems and have pings of sub 150 may have that when standing still and not doing anything, but its obvious that it spikes to about 200 when theres any activity if only for moments, so still its unfair to pitch aganst peep with isdn or adsl, cable or so forth caus their connections will not spike as much as with modems users.
peep with low pings see you and react faster than you, often you die before you see your killer, esspecially with railgunning.
so separate servers is a very good idea.
dont care what the low ping peep say, its not their choice. AND im not aganst low pings, caus its the way forward, the sooner we all move to sub 100 connections the better.
