Won't be watching till the cinemas are a little less packed. Don't want to end up between two nacho-guzzling Russian shot-putters and have the film ruined.

Maybe I was wrong - maybe he went to stare at a blank screen?

The battle sequence that never appeared was apparently very good though....... :p

I went to see it last night too. Dont know if it was better than the first one, there was certainly more fighting which pleased me , and the action scenes looked superb. I really enjoyed it, though I dont think it followed the book qiute as closed as the first film. Yes, I know they missed out Bombadil in the first film, but the rest was quite the same.
Anyway. Excellent is my verdict, and if you didnt like it you're a grumpy sod ;)
Dunno why they made Gimli scottish though ....

and don't forget the west contry sam...

only about 25% of it was "book-like"...

Also, there 'Massive' system for the battles is rockin'

Saw it on Thursday night.

Bloody good, but I preferred the first film. Gandalf's my fave character, and there was a distinct lack of him in this 2nd one in comparison to the 1st.

Yes I realise that the book is like this too (I've read them/it), but I preferred the FotR in film version, whereas I preferred TTT in book format.

Why would it be better if he was english?

The fact that he was Scottish made him much funnier (to me).... but i'm biased :)

Ive also just been to see it!

Fantastic!!!!! Well worth seeing...

I enjoyed little pockets of humour dotted within the mayhem of battle and destruction.

I now cant wait to see the final film...

Saw it. It was...laughable (Legolas sliding on a shield down some steps? C'mon)

Agreed, that was a bit lame.

It was a good film spoiled by some truly shite and boring moments. If anyone would like to fill me in on why the fuck Liv Tyler was in it again, considering how much she mings, I would be much appreciated. The talking trees were deeply silly and Gollum, whilst amusing at first, just got far too irritating. The battle of Helm's Deep rocked tho, and the trees managed to redeem themselves by kicking ass at the end.

Wasn't as good as the first one. But it did have less Frodo in it. Which is always good.
