Maybe Jim from Neighbours planted Libby to give Desmond the boat. Desmond's GF then susses out whats happening and uses her father's resources and wealth to track him down. Maybe good old Jim has something to do with the Hanso foundation.

SO this is a free-for all zone for lost 1+2 spoilers. Read at your own risk :D

I'm spectical what happened to the guys down the hatch, I dont think they died. I rekon they are about some(where/when).

judging from charlies response locke and eko are ok as he said "are they not back yet" instead of saying they are dead or somat which suggest he was still down there when it happened as he didnt know the sky lit up and desmond released and emp bomb or some thing so he should perhaps be ok too

I dont think it was an explosion, rather a huge sort of EMP bomb. Perhaps something magnetic even, which could explain why the hatch was flung up in the air, without the bunker being literally being blown up.

Desmonds GF said something earlier, with enough money you can find anyone, though its hard to imagine she figured that the magnetic disturbances had something to do with him disappearing.

Very curious how Kate, Sawyer and Jack are gonna manage, and I reckon we are going to see Michael and Walt again pretty fast.

I always hate it when they leave so much questions at the end of a season, but then again, it was to be expected :)

Put it in spoilerbrackets, because i always hate reading something i didnt want to read :)

To be honest you probably shouldn't click a thread discussing a series of a programme not aired yet, since its likely it'll feature spoilers for prior series. ;)

How much do you want to bet that we don't see kate/sawyer/jack for at least 3 episodes of the new season. I'm >< close to giving up on this show but I'm sure I never will :\

Grr.

According to my housemate, there are rumours that another plane is gonna crash on the island and introduce new characters. For those who've seen the end of season 2, I'm sure you can figure out why it may be feasable...

Whether it's true or not, we'll have to wait and see.

Yeah I thought that too. Someone told me they intended to make 7 series, so it would seem likely they will introduce a new characters somehow.

For the love of god, does JJ Abraham need some help in answering questions? I will give my valuable input if needed.

Hint: Don't leave it until the last fucking 10 mins of a 24 episode series to show us some stuff. Christ.

I was determined to hate this show and never watch it again. Now I simply demand to see Ep1 of season 3 immediately.

Anyone see the way Jack and Kate looked at each other? There's a plan afoot. I'll bet Michael is going to drop Walt off with Sun and come back with Jin, Sayid and some guns and kick some ass trying to get back the 3 captured.

Therefore redeeming himself, natch.

Holy crap, good thinking. :) That would be awesome. I don't really like Michael but I can't see him just disappearing like that. Plus I don't think Walt would just let himself be taken away from all this. There must be something to him.

Makes sense, there was a gap between when they shot the 'other' and Jack revealed what Michael was up to, to when they were caught.

I think they decided that if he was freed like 'they' promised, that he would come back for them. This ALSO might tie in with why they were (deliberately?) miles from the shore when attacked - the black smoke is so that Michael knows where to find the boat with Sayid and co.

i dont think micheal will be back next series, why should he? it dotn make much sense, he was willing to kill to get his boy back now that he has he can try and go home and smoke a fat puffy cigar. and jack and kate looked at each other as "henry" gave micheal corodinates (ask chetan to decode that word) to freedom.

and some sites are reporting Harold Perrineau wont be regular next series

I deffo agree with the EMP theory. Now I think about it, the hatch flying up was a dead give away, especially since the island isnt now rubble. So if it was an EMP, the people *might* be OK. Random bits of metal flying around may have kebabbed one or two of em, but it seems likely they will come out with a headache or something.

Another plane crashing does seem likely - especially if everything has been planned by some random force like is suggested.

Did anyone else think one of those russian (?) scientists (?) looked an awful lot like Jack?

Yeah, he did look like Jack, be interesting to see what the other sites make of that.

The thing that got me was
If the time desmond let everything go funky made their plane crash, then the magnetic force is stupidly strong and reaches out far from the island.

Why then, did only the stuff in the hatch get attracted to the big magnetic wall. Surely if this force can reach out to down a plane, then all the metal that was left from the plane on the beach (Stuff that was used for huts, etc. Should have been pulled in to.

Also, if turning the key destroyed the magnetic thing by discharging it for good as a big EMP, the boat should have stopped working. And if the others aren't hillbillys I hope they had some protection around any computers they use (The one walt was typing on) or they will all be fried.

I wonder if that will be the next series. The secret of the others being scientists with monitoring equipment will be revealed, but the EMP will have sent everything back to the dark ages :)

They sure are milking this series for all they are worth. Its pretty crap storytelling skill to drag it out and on forever like this - wrap it up and start another tv-series instead. You really should not have to wait 7 years to see what it was all about etc, i mean that is a seriously long time. For crying out loud, a not insignificant part of the people that started watching the first season will be dead by the time they have finally wraped it up.

The thing about those boats was this: One had a sail. The other had a petrol/diesel powered motor.
Neither would be destroyed by an EMP. Worst case scenario: his GPS/radio equipment would be damaged.

re: the big magnets and nothing else being owned by the big magnets - you can create a very large shock magnetically and electrically that has a very large range but nor necessarily a large effect. Enough to fuck over a compass, perhaps even enough to fry all the electronics in 50 miles, but weak enough to not throw your car accross a field.

I think ol' Des was responsible for pulling their plane off course - but something else brought it down.
