The compass would defo be affected, that would be one way to keep them in the series, I just can't see them being allowed to leave until thier story has been fully told.

Depends on what the producers want really, or rather what ratings feedback they get from keeping or not keeping the black single dad / black young boy in the series. Its all about target demographics after all. If enough people want to see them then they will stay in the series otherwise they will be gone - the major production companies have peolpe analyzing these things religiously to get the best cast formula to appeal to the widest range of potential consumers watching the show and the commercials that buy time on the show. Every character is a carefully designed personality/stereotype thats there to appeal to someone. If there arent enough of those someones watching then they get written out so they dont cost money and they can bring in something else instead.

Lost is actually just and island in the 24 series. Old Jack shall be making an apperance in series 3 I believe.

And yes too many questions at the end of series 2, hate how they do this. I wonder if they will ever explain it all. Like the black smoke that comes out of the ground, what killed the pilot etc etc. Very frustrating ending.

They won't be allowed to leave; not so much because of Michael (although his actions require repurcussions or its just bad drama), but because of Walt; he's one of the key plot devices. I think Walt will make Michael help Jack etc. probably by finding Sayid.

Just like I did between series 1 and 2, I've completely lost interest in Lost right now, but I'm sure it'll only take 1 episode before I'm hooked again. :(

Duh, it was the invisible, mechanical man-eating monster that lives in the ground that Jack later killed with some dynamite :puke:

Hmm, not sure what to think of the latest ep. It was cool, but compared to the first ep of the 2nd season which just blew me away, slightly underwhelming. Can't wait to find out more about Dharma though. :)

Just seen the episode.... Spoiler/Comments etc..

Wonder why they're keeping them in seperate places? Why did the last shot show Ben going really wide eyed? Could he be Jack's ex's new BF/Husband or something?

Looked like a good episode honestly, think S3 has a lot to show... Next Epi should be more interesting; espically as it's meant to be based around Lock.

@Mob: I know what they're all about :) Well, why they've got the houses etc... Just a few things flying around the net.. Will answer if you wanna know.

Excellent. Thought the houses at the begining were part of a flashback. So cool to see the plane breaking apart in mid-air. The fact that they knew what to do straight away (Send one person to each section and blend in), tells me they've been collecting people from crashes for years and I wonder if they are themselves, desendants of a crash from years ago.

Shitballs. Yet more massive questions, annoying fuckwits and no answers. Jack should have slashed open her jugular tbh

Hmmm, well one answer is made from the first 3 minutes alone:

Theres no way for an aircraft to break apart like that, unless its either a bomb, or a dirty big black nanocloud with chains.

Also, I think we all know now that the brown rags thing is just an act.

I'm pretty sure we knew that from the time we saw claires flashback in the hospital. I guess there were some tidbits in there but I just find the whole thing really annoying rather than interesting now. S2 pushed too far and I'm just losing interest/getting bored with the tired old techniques.

Yeah, you have to seriously consider that the crash was engineered, and the way that Henry reacted means he could have been expecting it at any time. Of course they may have just been trained for that exact situation, but then when you think that as they have these dossiers on the survivors, whether they knew everyone on that plane even before they stepped onto it, or if they are communicating with someone higher up back on the mainland. But the fact they strictly chose those characters to be lured by Michael and kept in their possession might just mean they are using Ethan's reconnaissance to pick out people who have some sort of important/figurehead type role in the group, which Henry/Ben would be aware of having been conveniently caught and handed over to them, before we realised how important he was. ;)

I don't think we we will see Jack/Sawyer/Kate for at least an episode now. I'm really curious to find out what the others know of the button. Did they have any idea that Kelvin/Desmond were using the hatches? They seem to have enough personnel over there that they themselves could have controlled the button pressing. It seems as if the others are running one part of the Dharma iniative, and it explains that shark in s2e1 (I think) with the Dharma logo on it. Well whatever the fuck is going on, its certainly intriguing. :)

It's obivous they are in communications with back home since they had recent information on Jack and others - information far more current than the apparent 1970's suggestion from S2. I think it's all a bit of a scam really and it's just going to get sillier and sillier. Who wants to bet on a series 5? Fucking cash cow bastardos.

I'll give you intriguing. I'll also give you boring and bad drama. It really is starting to take the piss. I love this series but they need to give us more. And when I say more I mean answers and not more bad flashbacks.

It's only ep1 so I'm not that worried but if it's like this in another 5 eps I'll give up and move on to something else. I have better things to do with my time.

They don't nessesarly have contact with the mainland. She never showed Jack his fathers death certificate and even if she had it, it could have been in with the coffin as his dad was in the cargo hold of that plane.

The survelence station proves that there were links to TV camers in the stations. Whose to say that that station was the only place that was tapped into the cameras. They could have been studying them all for all that time and picked up on major events from Jack's conversations with people.

2nd Episode seen

Whipped, how would you explain the very last set of scenes with the baseball if they didn't have outside contact?

Wonder what will happen when Sawyer and Kate try to retailliate against the group of guys? Perhaps what Ben saw will make them learn some sort of defense? Wonder if Sun will tell Jin about the guy trying to sleep with her, seems a bit odd.

Was an alright episode

Those transmissions could have been collected via a reasonably sized satellite dish on the edge of the satellite's footprint. Nothing too spectacular there, doesn't mean they had contact. The files? Probably a copy of the aircraft manifest, remember the 'others' seem to be fairly good at deception.
