Looks like a cameraman got a bit too far into frame :)

Ahhh, or is he really some weird entity living on the island that we'll meet in a later episode. One of the reality TV show filmmakers maybe? ;)

I saw this on another forum. Its been confirmed by the production guys that it was a mistake. It was the horse trainer trying to keep the horses attention so as to keep it pointing the correct way for the camera

Didn't Locke say something though, about
The island shows you things about yourself? Looks to me like something on that island can read people's minds, and create real objects from those thoughts. Unless thats what they want you to think. Stupid writers, bah I hate them

Bloody good thing we got to see the thingy, the writers were obviously aware they had been taking the piss far too much in terms of mystery and decided to show us some goodness!

Half of those were annotated incorrectly!

Oh the annotations are bullshit, and theres more pics than necessary.

A few are interesting though, if you can be bothered flicking through the crap.

How are we supposed to see these 'images' within the monster? has the author put speical image editing software on to it or am I missing something? :p Whys it require image editing software if it is that.. to show us what we should know? :S *confused*

So once again, more things point at the fact that the island is forcing people to deal with their inner turmoil. It's looking more and more like purgatory as time goes on, though hasn't this been denied?

The thing is, the versions we watch are pretty crappy. I think somebody has recorded it at mega high quality in the US, then plonked it into a video edit suite and captured still frames. I would think that the viewer on normal telly is supposed to capture brief glimpses, subconcious stuff. I doubt that the images are massively important to the plotline - if they are important, they'll need to be explained in more detail later on.

I was massively impressed by Mr Ecko though, we haven't known him that long and already he has one of the most interesting characters yet. You just know that they're going to introduce a story at some point that really puts a strain on his faith, and tests him to the limit.

Not a spoiler so:

This is Lost, images have been hidden that wouldnt be seen when played at normal speed since the very first episode (the explosion just for starters).

Play back this weeks episode, step through the relevant section (just past 27mins in) frame by frame and youll see those images appear for 1-2 frames before disappearing again. At normal speed youll never notice them: but having seen such images in previous episodes they are almost expected at this stage.

Oooh! "Others" I guess. Damn it, I won't be able to get the next episode until the weekend, which is a shame because I've got a train journey to Newcastle on Thursday and episode 11 would have passed the time nicely. Instead of all this waiting for torrents, I need a tame American and a Location Free TV setup. I'm sure there could be an interesting little business in this once it takes off; matching Americans to people in Europe to act as their US TV schedulers.

Someone else already linked us to these in a small, but perfectly formed, SPOILER TAG. This episode hasn't aired in England yet.

Err, I haven't put image tags on them. You don't HAVE to click the urls. Plus, this is the season 2 thread. Why would people following the English version be here?

Not really, after all this is a thread discussing season 2 and the episode in question has already aired. I found the smoke to be a bit of a disappointment but Eko's back story was cool :)

Spoiler tags should be used for anything that may give away the story, regardless of whether you've seen the latest episode or not.

"It seems to read peoples minds?" Isn't really a spoiler, more of a theory. If you've seen the episode then you would've seen the images in the smoke and if you haven't then its probably not a good idea to look a thread thats been posted in after the episode aired, cus its likely you'll read stuff you don't! I know as much as anyone else about the black smoke, I was just saying, that seems to be what it does. Thats not really a spoiler is it? If it is then sorry, etc.

What I mean is that if someone who's been watching S2 but hasn't seen the latest, they'd be spoiled by that stuff. That's what the spoiler tags are for imo.

I view spoilers as something from future episodes that haven't aired yet, if it's aired then I think it's ripe for discussion.
