Yes, I was especially pleased to have the ending summed up for me in a sentence. Oh well, I suppose it's my fault for not having read the books!

Just read the hobbit and now on the third chapter of the fellowship of the ring. Is the hobbit going to be included in the story at all apart from just mentioning about the past? Or will it just start at the beginning of the lord of the rings trilogy?

erm...get your facts straight. i didnt give away anything about LotR to spoil the film. my references were to the 1st and 2nd ages which are not featured in the films.

The new front covers for the books have pictures from the film, the return of the king has an image of a group walking along a hill led by gandalf, I wonder how they get the hobbit effect. Anybody know for sure who's playing who?

you know between the ages of like,13 and 16 i think i more or less just read that book, plus the silmarillion, over and over again.
which explains why i've not read it more than twice in the following ****!* years, but still remember it all :)
