Being a high spec sheild and parry hero, I have to say that 6/10 times an even con polearm weilding armsman will beat me just coz of the huge damage they do. Having said that, it's very rare to get a one on one fight in RvR. It annoys me that I am ganked and it annoys me when I loose a 1 on 1, but I accept it and get on with the game and I do not post on here making up excuses.

The best thing to do when you are beaten by an opponent (even if someone else got in 1 hit) is keep your mouth shut and accept it like a man. Hell I might start posting here everytime I get ganked because I would probably won 1 on 1 with every person I have ever fought (sarcasm).

And can u blame any mid or hib, for seizing the opportunity to kill u before their other realm enemy? I bet 95% of Albion wishes they could get the killing blow in on u aswell.

Karam, u are obviously someone who cannot accept that you are occasionally killed even though you chose the best armoured and hardest hitting mellee class in the game.

15% penalty versus: Druids, Rangers, Heros, Champions, Wardens, Healer, Shaman, Skald, Thane, Warrior. Since every level 50 who RvRs at all will have at least 10% slash resist (I have 25%), that means you get on average -25% against these classes (and of course -40% versus me!).

runemasters have pulsing bladeturn, so we can take them off your 'ability to kill before christmas' list. all other casters have bladeturn and will quickcast mez/root/stun you before you take a second swing.

assassins and archers are stealth classes, and aren't stupid enough to take a polearms in melee.

this leaves a grand total of 3/21 rvr classes that you face which you can make good damage on: bard, blademaster, berserker. that's 14% of all classes which you will face (although we shouldn't include blademasters since they are rarely seen in rvr).

Bout crush/pole, yup, really rare, just as crush/2h or plain crush. Ppl who doesnt know a lot bout daoc when starts playing choses slash (outlooking or whatever) most of em are praying for a respec to crush/trusth now (ask ur own realm mates. i.e.: Huma, the only rr4 tank in Albion. *cough* same as n00bamir and me on Hibernia *cough* yeah newbie... rofl)

har har har, u are so funny... trusth/pole outdmgs slash/pole BY FAR on everything bout casters... and as i told before, u dont need bonus against those ones (they have no hps) u just NEED bonus against enemy tanks, healers, ... Simple, lack of availability. Same goes for thrust.
Only thing that albion drops in abundance is slash weapons (and not only albion I believe). Even an infiltrator gets a slash on lvl 5 to start with ....

Try being a two hander-thrust ... same problem. Even crush has its difficulties for 2handed weaps. Most people also started slash polearms because of the high dps and I think at least a few of them realised as they got higher in skill and knowledge of the game that it may not have been the best of choices.

At the early 30's I thought I was gimped because everyone said that Thrust is Dex + Str based... Untill I read (and heard) from several people that its Str only on polearms...

Now, seeing some of the damages you post, its kinda funny that I (at level 43) do the same damage as little Karam on yellows already... Makes me wonder, double the damage on 50 ? (probably not, but more then Karam, )

Slash is UBER in PvE... But thats where it ends, in RvR Slash is the weakest...

The reason why someone might want Slash is indeed the drops, since there arent that many Thrust polearms around... And as said, Slash is nice in PvE...

you wont do any more damage at 50 than you do now.

and im sure you dont do the 700 dmg i can do to yellow leather wearers, to chain wearers for you..

i've recently got some more armour, and alot more str, so my damage is turning quite uber.
