thought it funny that there's 3 sites for denmark (population 5 million) but only 1 for the UK (pop 60 million)

lets hope the UK wont get shafted in the way of advertising and distribution!

hmm, so does this mean GAME is the only place you can pre-order in the UK, or just the only place that will also give you an Open Beta key?

The UK games scene rocks!

We only need one gaming franchise, who mostly employ clueless "PS2 generation" school kids. Why are Virgin stocking the game in France but not here! :x
And I'm out of the country until Monday, I expect all 3 of the pre-order boxes GAME have reserved for each city will be long gone by then :x

England is in the bloody stone age when it comes to Online games, the people at my local game shops don't have a pissing clue what good games are.

Sometimes i just want to move to Netherlands, seem everything i like they have it better :p

Brief explanation to the UK scene and WoW!.

Turns out Game did a deal with Blizzard EU to get exclusive rights to the pre-order campaign, what this means is basicaly until launch Game is and will be the only official place you can get World of Warcraft and the Beta Pack from.

There won't be a Collectors Edition of WoW available in the UK as Game wont be stocking it, which brings me to the next thing? What Swedish/Dutch etc shops ship to other countries ? like the UK.

PS What Blizzard/Game are doing has pissed me off something chronic, not only because i hate Game (there total dim-wits) but because my house m8 who runs a game store is getting left out on one of the biggest selling MMO's todate. This also means he has to pay Game (his competition) full price for something he could get much cheaper himself.

He will be phone'ing Vivendi tomorrow to find out exactly what is going on and why there are no CE versions in the UK.

It isn't possible to cancel after the beta keys have shipped.

This absolutely sucks.

What about Portugal, UK (for CE), practically the whole of eastern europe and the Benelux?

Seems Blizzard love Scandanavia and Italy but the rest of us can just fuck off.

For those new to Blizzard games they have a reputation for poor customer service (Looks at Diablo Fan Base) Its one thing that concerns me when the game goes live is how well they will communicate between themselves and the community.
That being said ive not played the US beta so not sure 100% how things have been.
Really disappointed about there CE version and as for 'GAME' they suck rang both the largest london based store and my local one and no one had a clue about it so pre-ordered it online for cd key.

Checked two local GAME stores this morning, neither had any knowledge about the pre-order boxes.

Foolish for GAME to get exclusive UK rights to distribute the game, then do fuck-all about it. But they stop the competition(small independant retailers) and that's all that matters :x

Ok,

Yoni contacted me and asked me to check within GAME what the current state of play is.

This is what is going to happen:

Vivendi gave GAME permission to give the beta cds/keys out.
GAME are receiving stock this week (hopefully).

EVERYONE who has pre-ordered WoW from the GAME website will receive one of these cds/keys regardless of what message was on the GAME website when you placed your pre-order.

GAME hope to complete this by the end of next week. Stores are highly unlikely to have these CD's so I wouldn't bother going into a store.

Still hoping they will ship it to Belgium too ;)

I bet you people haven't heard that in the online world eastern europe isn't a part of europe :p. Eastern europeans get left out in many things, online gaming and gaming in general, it was an actual wonder that HL2 came out in eastern europe the same time it came out elsewhere. I'm just lucky that I can pre-order WoW online from Finlandia, beta-pack and everything, with just an extra 5 euros shipping. ;)

Just on a side-note here, I'm Dutch and e-mailed game.net yesterday if I would get the beta key if i pre-ordered from them. This is the response i got:

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your email.

I can confirm the Beta Test Key is only available to the UK. Any customers in the UK that have pre-ordered the full version of the game will receive this test kit.

So it appears if you order a game from another country, you DO NOT get a beta key.

No beta for NL, sux ;)

please correct me if I'm wrong.

For people living in EU member countries (unlike me) its not a big deal, just order from the country closest to you ? (if they have the english version or wtf u want) You dont have to pay any tax because of the free flow of wares between EU countries or smth? Shipping might take abit longer, but still, you'll get the game ... :>

Most countrys wich aren't on the blizz retailers list actually DO have shops where you can pre-order from (like NL), they just don't have the open beta key action
