Linux is beardy, boring and quite frankly a waste of time ;) Its an OS, but its best to stick with windows unless you want to spend hours crying into your sleep because you cant play Age of Camelot!

Those people that say that linux is superior, yet give reasons like "'Cause Windows is shit" need to stop using linux right now. You have no clue... That would make you more suitable for MacOS.

Seriously, I use Linux because it's stability is great, programming tools are readily availble as is the source for most apps (a big help if you're trying to write a similar app or wish to add features to an existing one). Gaming is not Linux's strong suit, but it will play games well if they're programmed for Linux. Linux is adept at any server function you throw at it. I have an HP NetServer (PPro 200 /256mb ECC) running Mandrake 7.2 right now. It's my gateway/firewall/dhcp server. With a single command, I can turn on the web server or ftp server. I love using WindowMaker and AfterStep for my desktops. I love 'em so much that I use LiteStep for Windows to remain in a similar environment when I'm in Win2000. Linux has it's merits as does windows. Use either one to suit whatever task you need to perform.

heh, I just spent an hour working on my site, only to find it wont actually update! And 20m wants me to upgrade? heh FAT chance! :)

Linux is shit because it doesn't run any windows apps Alberto. Same reason Macs are shit. And IBM PowerPC's, Alpha's, Sparcs...you now :)

And I use sparcs at work! They are fookin ACE. But ONLY for work. :)

It crashed 5 times when I tried to install it. Any OS that does that deserves the definition "shite".

lol no it's not.
bodhi is twisting a value he got yonks ago and applying that to *today*.
it's the same thing he does with the intel/amd argument. once apon a time he had a bad return. big deal.

I only do what everyone else does with ATi graphics cards. Base their opinions on the horrible drivers of the past and ignore the good drivers of the present.
