mmm, good point. However the only real reason why linux cant compete with windows, is because there is no unified driver system. Direct X can be a pain in the ass, but jesus does it make games easier install and work along with hardware!!!

Btw, if you want to make your Linux system uber efficent, go to a terminal:
su to root
cd /
rm -rf usr

It'll fly !

I've installed mandrake 8.1 too

but still find I use windows 98 (which one did u change from?)
for games and stuff.. (proper games cost more than windoze games)

I have managed to install quake 3 in linux, using windows quake 3 disk



I doubt I will buy the windows O/S, in future, as linux does everything windows does..
