Seems Gadaffi forces ran like rats uniforms literally left in the roads.

When Gadaffi said yesterday that he had eliminated the rats (his name for the rebels) did he mean them or his own troops?

Anyway, nice to see the rebels in Tripoli along with the population showing support.

A guy I work with thinks our involvement with this is down to bolstering the economy. He thinks the reason we are dropping so many bombs is so we can pay people to make more.

Me and the wife were talking about this yesterday oil is the lowest it has been for sometime yet the petrol prices stay the same or go up the excuse at the start of all this was because the oil was going up in price.

Fucking joke.

Oil is traded in dollars. Guess what's been happening to pounds sterling the last few years?

2 dollars to the pound at the start of 2008. 2009, 1.4 dollars to the pound. 2010, 1.6 dollars to the pound. That's a big difference.

Add to that the extra VAT and duty increases, along with the lack of refining capacity due to recent disasters... I think you'll find that the oil companies don't really give two shits about fuel prices, it's such a small part of their business.

If you want to blame anyone for high fuel prices then look to the treasury.

Yeah, I bought my Z4 in December 2008 just after the crunch and it was about 86p to 89p a litre at that time.

Well, it's peaked and troughed since the crunch. For reference:

Post crunch it slumped to 1.44, but regained to the 1.6 mark eventually:

Monthly Exchange Rate Average (American Dollar, British Pound) 2009 - x-rates

2010 saw another slump to the 1.45-ish mark, but it picked up again:

Monthly Exchange Rate Average (American Dollar, British Pound) 2010 - x-rates

And now we're back in the 1.58 through to 1.6 region:

Monthly Exchange Rate Average (American Dollar, British Pound) 2011 - x-rates

That's because some of our royalty actually were involved in conflict, Andrew, mainly... and ofc Phillip was renown for his involvment in the RAF, even though he's not royal blood...

Gaddafi was a high-end body guard or something from what I read somewhere...

We need to stop bombing and start helping the injured, regardless of their side.

Well what do people expect? It is a war after all. Just hope it stays a war and not a random slaughterhouse.

I think it's leaning towards slaughter house. most of the bodies are apparently darker skinned mercs that Gaddafi employed.

Well if you fight a war don't expect any merci from the other side. With a slaughterhouse I 'm thinkin of slaughtering innocent people on a large scale (that would include POW aswell btw).

The hospital thing is very odd though. How did they get there, for how long, why and why is the hospital empty? Also are they all soldiers or woman and childeren aswell?
