Leap of Faith

Has everyone seen this? Whats your thoughts? I'm not a big UFO believer but this does seem pretty cool.. Effects maybe? It was filmed by a news crew, that makes me a bit concerned :D

UFO?

first one: well, it's a fish-eye lens. how high the drop is could be anyone's guess. when I still did some photography I could make skaters seem several feet off the ground when in reality they were perhaps 2~3 feet in the air. not that he doesn't fall hard though. ooh err tbh.
second one: I like UFOs, but I'll believe when I fart out an 80' dish, not before ;)

Fake. Do a frame-by-frame analysis, you can see the 'ufo' and its smoke trail move independantly of the background.

It's a first story fall about 10/12 feet max i'd say, still nasty enough but not too bad. I've fallen about that much stagediving and not being caught, last time was leaping high off a 6 foot stage... Only broke my nose and bruised my pelvis though......

Special effects in the UFO one were better than the crappy acting anyway.

Ouch

The way the skater landed he shouldn't have been too badly injured, looks as if he knows how to fall. I doubt I'd get straight up mind.

That UFO thing has to be fake, surely?

skaters use wide angle lens' to increase perspective - makes stunts look more impressive.

The UFO vid surfaced around the time of 9/11 along with "ALIENS ARE TO BLAME FOR WTC DESTRUCTION" websites. Clearly fake (notice the camera man knows exactly where to point the camera as it flies away at warp speed ... hmm ...), but still well done and quite convincing.

Can't trust any video/photo these days since it's so easy to premier/photoshop them.

I've seen this one before, it's a good one, but it's been disproved as debris that gets 'blown' away when the shuttle's OMS are fired to make a maneuver. You can see this as there are other, smaller objects floating about too that move at the same time as the "ufo". Additionally, you see the flash of the shuttle's OMS just as it moves.

I like the supposed "Earth tried to shoot it down" story with it referring to the streak across the screen just missing the "ufo".

:D Indeed I entertained the thought for a long while that the object did in fact 'move away very quickly' of its own doing.. I don't know with this one myself, you think it is a byproduct of over zealous UFO junkies and X files fans? :D

What is that streak going upwards then? ;)

/q x files moozik..lol :D
