the fact that its a 42" plasma screen and only costs 3 grand suggests to me it wont be of a very high quality :)

PC Pro this month elevated the Iiyama AS4332UT to it's 'A-List' - A 17" TFT, 35ms response time, USB hub, and apparently 160 degrees viewing angle. Retail listed as £680 inc VAT.

I, on the other hand, am very happy with the NEC Multisync 1880SX which I recently purchased - 18.1" TFT, 35ms response time, and confirmed viewing angles nearing 180 degrees. Retails at www.dabs.com dabs.com for £1,056 inc VAT.

Interestingly both the 17" TFTs listed above (iiyama and samsung) have response times of 25 ms.

I think I shall get one. Not for a few months mind, but I expect the prices will remain pretty much the same.

Nope...TFTs are sort of going up in price atm.

Laptops for example may increase by $100 due to TFTs price increase and a couple of other parts also increasing in price.
