Laptops & Music Programs

My brother wants a laptop that he can hook his mixer & decks up to.

Having no knowledge about audio packages that are available for Windows however leaves me a bit stuck as it's hard to spec him a laptop if I don't know what he's going to run on it.

Since we've got some media types here on FH can any of you lot tell me what the most common music making applications are please so I can spec him a lappy and then see if you guys agree on the selection?

If he's into the whole dj thing, I've heard good things about a program called Reason from some friends that dj drum n bass an such.

Traktor, it's damn good. You know it's good when multi-award winning DJ Craze uses it (seen him do so a couple of years back in Brighton before he decided to go on a mixing showboat rampage).
