I really dont care if this is 1000 thread about the massive lag we have been witness to the last 2 month, i have had enough, i will not log onto daoc untill new year, and if the lag issue is still going at that time im ending my days in Daoc permanently.
Even IF the lag issue is solved i expect atleast 2 month of free online time, coz it's the worst support i have ever been witness to. uke:
if the compentation is not atleast 2 month free i will also end my account.

Well at least we know the GM's do look here and may at least get a feel for the annoyance of the players.

Sadly I am seeing all too many peeps leave and lag seems to be the final straw. It is ok to point out that it is not the fault of GOA but they are the ones losing peeps, they are the ones not advertising in the UK for new ones and they are the ones who are the paying customer of the telecoms company.

My subscription is up soon and I have enjoyed NF a bit but I will not be renewing for 12 months, I may not even renew for 6 and there only needs to be a few people like me around and the game is going to struggle.

Are these posts pointless ? Maybe, but if it gets some frustration off of peoples chests and if it keeps GOA aware of the strength of feeling (so they can feed it back to the telecoms company and apply whatever pressure they feel they can) then maybe they are ok. No one has to read them or reply.

Tilda is a moderator in these (non official) boards and in no way 'employed' by GOA. So no that is not an official response from GOA.

The official response from GOA can be found here on the official website.

We know about the problems with the lag and understand how annoying it is. We are working very hard on fixing it as soon as possible. There is no other news yet and there would be we will tell you as soon as we hear about it.

People are entitled to vent thier frustrations here as this is a forum related to daoc and it has the benifit of being used by goa representatives.

I dont like the fact that u are just suppost to just "shut up" about the lag now or face having a fh "flogging" by so certain persons on fh who's virtual head/penis grows each time they slag off another player complaining about something that they have a RIGHT to complain about.

This lag is ruining daoc for a lot of ppl making it tottally unplayable to them so they should be entitled to some sort of compensation by goa.

I would have thought it would be in goa's own interests to keep it's dwindling customers happy and even giving out a free day here or there even tho we have had no server downtime as such.Even if it isnt goas fault and its Opentransits fault i would have thought they still have some sort of "contractual" obilgation i beleive to provide a service to us.

Server lag fooked us on ml3 tonight, people missing steps due to ld's, mass ld's causing wipes etc.

Then again apparently its all my fault because i dont live in France and as far as GOA are concerned, France is Europe, players from other countries can either put up or sod off.

I still reckon the incoming traffic problem is either a load of crap, or only part of the problem. People from all over lag at the same moment no matter where they come from. Be it Berlin, Minsk, London, Edinburgh, Dublin, Malmo, Budapest, and The Solomans...... so it's got to be something very, very local to Pry and Exc.

Unless of couse all these places are routed via the same nodes... :eek2:

Didn't somebody from GOA post that they have NF and TOA zones on same machine? How fucking brilliant is that...the two most populated zones on same gimp server. Maybe change, and put NF with SI, and ToA with daoc classis...or something...??

I thought it was alb and mid-toa on the same physical server? guessing dungeons are on a seperate again as there is never any "toa-lag" in ml9 dungeon.. at least not on mid.

toa lag is due to the code - it could be helped by moving one of the two toa "worlds" sharing the same server

upgrading to 1.71 is faster than getting a new server though and should happen soon

read the post on types of lag - should be able to tell whether it's server lag or connection lag.

It's not always the NF zones either. Unless the BGs and a few dungeons are located there.

I've given up on TOA for now since we tried to do SoM and people were going linkdead faster than we coiuld invite.

read the posts on types of lag

you'll get server lag in mid/alb toa zones

you'll get some connection lag when OT feels like it in any zone

you'll get fps lag in NF when you meet lots of enemies unless your computer is shit hot.
