Yesterday I was at work when I felt a pain in my lower back. The pain grew and within 15 minutes I knew it was a kidney stone, as I'd had one (on the other side) about 7 or 8 years ago.
I told work I was going home, got to my car to drive the 10 miles home. Managed about 2 miles then had to stop at the side of the road to be sick. Eventually I got home (luckily I was in the car, I dont think I could have done it on the bike, and luckily the car is an auto) rang the doctors who just said get to the hospital.
By the time I got to the hospital I had just abandoned the car out side the fron and staggered in, where the amazingly sympathetic nurses put my in a bed and filled me up with painkillers.
Eventually I was moved to the main hospital at Redhill, and, after passing a load of blood filled urine, was allowed home at 10pm last night. This morning I woke up, and the pain started again, I was really scared, you simply cannot describe what it's like. Luckily I felt something in my kidney move, thats the only way I can describe it, and the pain immediately stopped. I'm just sitting here hoping it will stay that way. I'm booked in for a CT scan, dunno what else will happen.
Happy days
