Kicked For Singing

Earlier today, I was playing on de_Prodigy as a terrorist. I was the only one left and against 5 CTs, so I decided I would start singing.

I was doing a great impression of Sinatra, when an admin kicked me!!!

This should not be allowed because players can just mute me!!!

Thoughts?

i hate that new script thats popping around everywhere now, where you can play Music inside CS, so everyone else can hear it

I would say its kickable, mic options are not there for singing but for quick communication.

They could have easily muted you, or asked you to stop. Kicking was a last resort which was used incorrectly. If you know who did it you could complain properly to BW.

Hi mate,

unfortunetly I dont.

It wasnt one of them crappy music scripts, it was me own voice :D.

If I would have had a warning I would of stoped, but obviously the admin didnt like me singing!

Maybe you just found an admin who hates Sinatra? Try playing S CLub 7 over the mic - everyone loves them (isn't that right Korn?)

If you were stood still whoever it was might have kicked you for being AFK.

But tbh I'd kicked people for abusing voice comms, if I actually had them enabled, which I dont :)

Imo I dont think it was fair to kick over singing on the voice com thing, if it was purely meant for voice then howcome ppl can get music wavs specifically designed for it ?

tbh I think a warning would hv been better if this person was truly annoying, I agree with Ch3tan that kicking shud hv been a last resort.

Also isnt this why we hv the mute facility ? if sombody gets on ur nerves a bit simply mute them, problem solved.

Agreed. That is like, funny for the first 5 seconds then fucking annoying after that.

Spam of any kind, be it text or radio comms is not allowed on barrysworld public servers.
Spamming adds to server lag and is not very nice for everyone else playing, especially radio spam, people use sounds a lot in CS therefore your actions were dealt with accordingly.
You don not have the right to do as you please on BW servers.
They are provided free for the use of the public, and anyone spoiling the game by doing mindless things like that should be and will continue to be banned.
The arguement that they could mute you is childish and disrespectful to other people playing the game.
why should everyone on a server have to change their settings ingame because of you doing a stupid act?

They should have been more thoughtful when they brought 1.5 out , in the Muting Case..

They should have given you the Option for:

Muting Voice Comms (Alone)
Muting Text (Alone)
Muting Radio (Alone)

But instead they mute Voice and Text together.. and you cant mute Radio.. which can be a son of a biatch

either way you should have been warned first, especially as it is not exactly an act intending to harm others. Personally as a dead person I would have found it pretty amusing compared to watching people try and out camp each other.

dont know if anyone cares, but interesting none the less =)

I was at a MS dev thing a few months back for the xbox. Was in a meeting about the legal standings with the voice coms that all MS live (the online) games must come with.
Someone asked where a server hosting a game would stand legally if someone was miss-using the voice coms. Apparently, if there is an option to mute the person, then technically the server hosts are free of all legal action.
Dont know, I just found that interesting =)

Also on the subject of teh X-Box. If you say well known swear words on the voice comms, it will not broadcast them.
