well i hope you fail your test, cos you obviously dont have the common sense required to drive with any semblance of intelligence
"oh lols i made it home ok" applies to drink driving and other such things aswell, until you run over someone you didnt see, its fucking stupid to drive when your not 100% yourself. dont do it
Fettoken....removing tonsils is mainly done as a result of repeated tonsillitis, or throat infections. Occasionally they are removed to help cure snoring or noisy breathing or obstructive sleep apnoea. The effect is that it cures the above problems!
I have massive tonsils I reckon, I went to the doctor about 6 months ago to convince him I had tonsilitus and to get em ripped out
Didn't work. If I drink too much booze (often) they swell up and I can use some reverse oesophogal traction and sit them on my tongue. Hehe yucky
Personally I'd like them gone so I don't snore as loudly but don't think the option is available.
Oh, and Mabs is spot on r.e. Driving. I almost ran over a pregnant woman yesterday. She didn't look either direction, just stepped into the road, I slammed the brakes and a few secs later her head turned and regarded me with a distinct lack of emotion or reaction. It shitted me right up. doesn't need me to say what taking sense dulling drugs could do in a situation like that.
taB, if your tonsils are that massive, you can request to be seen by an ENT specialist to give you an opinion about whether or not you need them out. Even if your Dr doesn't think you need it doing, you're in your rights to request an appointment....assuming you live in the UK and qualify for NHS treatment that is. Or, you could pay for a private consultation with an ENT chap.....normally £80-£300 depending on where you go and who you see.
Generally speaking, if your tonsils are touching, or are larger than grapes, and if you snore/have onstructive breathing, you should get 'em looked at, irregardless of whether or not you have tonsillitis.
Yes, of course you were all right, it was a stupid thing to drive and I won't be doing it again ever. The only reason I did it that time was because it was under supervision, but that's no excuse, I know.
As for my [missing] tonsils; the pain is gone and I feel a bit better. Recovery was a bitch compared to others, but my ENT doctor tells me it's normal for people to have different reactions or recovery periods to the surgery.
However, I'm still suffering from the weight loss (nearly 8 kg), which I can't seem to get back whatever I try, makes me feel crap and weak really. Also still taking tramadol. Whenever I stop I get these massive headaches and feel even worse, which is really annoying, as I can't work properly when I take it, it makes me feel slow and weird or something. As I'm starting a new job upcoming monday I've asked my doctor for help, don't want to become dependant on it or something, but for now all he's done is give me more...
Anyway, I'll stop whining now. I like to relavitise it by saying there are far worse things to suffer from.
Adari....Tramadol is addictive, I would suggest you start weaning yourself off it. Take one less tablet a day and reduce it slowly over a week, as you're right, working whilst taking tramamdol isn;t going to happen. And, I did tell you it was completely normal to feel as crap as you did.....
