They are my nemesis, I can't kill them and can't be near them, I either freeze or start screaming uncontrollably ;(

My sister swears by a hoover to get rid of them, she's terrified of them.

I don't understand the fear of spiders. I'm scared of wasps because they're viscous stinging little fucks.

I hate spiders according to size. Give me a tarantula any day and i'll take it out for walks, but those tiny fast f*ckers get a quick burst from a deo bottle + lighter.

Never been bothered by spiders. I just don't understand whats scary about them.

Agree with Big G about wasps. They will sting you for the hell of it.

Yes, the house I lived in back then was full of them... The cats would eat them, however the crunching sound followed by them jumping on my lap afterwards with a spider leg dangling out of its mouth was just as disturbing tbh ;/

I had to scroll through this thread with one eye closed and the other looking to the right of the monitor so I could only see the screen out of the corner of my eye. This was in case someone posted a big picture of a spider, as people are want to do in threads about spiders.

There were some terrifyingly large spiders in my house last year. I don't remember spiders being this big when I was younger.

I hate them. Inb4 someone posts a big picture of a spider.

I'm resisting the button. I actually read it as saying "Show Spider" at first.

It's a bit weird, I'm not scared of spiders but I hate the feeling of them walking on me. Though having said that mate had a giant Tarantula once, big as a dinner plate and very friendly. Would just sit on you and not move, good for halloween parties =P

Wasn;t it noted that the spiders this year only grew so large because the cold snap didn't occur until much later in the year, so instead of dying off they just kept growing?

I've been fairly fortunate so far though, i didn't have any real run-in's with any spiders apart from a maybe a handful of occasions. Lucky lucky.

When threatened or provoked, funnel-web spiders will display aggressive behaviour, rearing up on its behind legs and displaying their fangs. When biting, the funnel-web spiders maintain a tight grip on their victim, often biting repeatedly.
But I've hade large ones in my house aswell (beer mat size and even 2 of them at the same time). I'm usually not scared but when they reach that size i'm starting to worry aswell. I also just learned that recently in the Netherlands we got a new native spider (came over from the south of Europe) that has a bite bigger then the sting of a good wasp:

Its bite is reportedly quite painful. It has been compared to a "deep injection", and the pain can last for several hours.

Im scared of dogs and people take the piss out of me all the time. I'm not scared of Spiders, Wasps, Moths... all those stupid pussy things that most people are scared of. Dogs can rip your fucking face off and are faster than light.

Bah, its only a couple of toilet spiders. What are they going to do? Gang up on you while you're having a poo? They're more scared of you than you are of them. Unlike wasps.

A black widow + peepee != good combo!

fuck me I'm not walking in the woods again :/

Also, I grew up in the tropics, in Indonesia to be precise, and I've spent a decent amount of time in Australia. The ONLY place in the world I've actually been bitten by a spider is in Holland, by a completely common garden spider. The bastard.
