Would somebody care to explain in simple terms to the technically challenged what the hell it is I'm supposed to do.

Completed halflife ages ago, decided I adh no desire to play an FPS online and so ended my CS 'career'.

So what do I do now?

Reinstall and join the server? If I ever get it to run I will probably get bored of it within a few minutes.

So far I decided I should probably update halflife, so I ran the game, did the updatey thing and it said I had no internet connection. So I spilt coffee over my keyboard, repalced my keyboard, reset my computer, then asked you guys. I can see I'm going to be good at CS.

Install it.

Umm...guess that should do it. You may need to download the most recent CS version as well which would be 1.5 I believe.
