Yup, it's disgusting. Israel has too much dirt on people and/or is just too financially intertwined with governments around the world so no one will act to stop them. Israel needs cutting off and made a pariah or they simply will not stop, they'll keep pushing and pushing until sooner or later Muslims rally, form a massive Islamic army and roll over Israel.

Israel should be cut off from any and all arms supplies and have massive sanctions slapped on it.

But when I go on about state of free speech in the UK, I get criticised and told I'm not being critical enough of Trump.

Although to be fair, I don't really know what The Young Turks have said that's anti-semitic, I've tried to google it but it just comes up with anti-zionism, which in the world we live in is anti-semitic.

People from the far right that have been banned from the country call for 'remigration' which is genocide under current definitions (see Russia).

I think the point is that under Labour specifically we've seen a massive retrenchment of our long-held supposed freedoms.

How many people do we have to ban, how many people do we have to proscribe, how many people do we have to lock up in this country before we see this?

I don't know him either but if he's anything like that Hasan slimeball I can understand why he's banned. Another disgusting human being who in any other timeline would be utterly reviled. The UK recently raised its terror threat level so the folks making these calls probably a little on edge.

i assume the UK doesn’t publish official reasons for this kind of thing either which lets the folks affected control the narrative.

Lots of people spoke out, surprisingly a lot of them Irish Americans. Ted Kennedy and Tip O'Neill (Speaker of the House) were vociferous critics of Noraid and the IRA. All of the major newspapers, including the Boston Globe ran exposes on them and the DOJ forced Noraid to register as "an agent of a foreign organization".

Just because we tended not to hear it doesn't mean it wasn't happening.

Any criticism of Israel puts all Jews at risk, so does that mean we should do nothing?

I don't think it goes far enough - we should be putting sanctions on all of Israel.

Settlers won't give a fuck because they already know they're doing fucked up shit and everyone hates them, the pressure should be on the Israeli people not to elect fascists that enables this.

The noise around being antisemitic / shit from the US just lends Labour's actions legitimacy, when they're not legitimate actions.

It's a bit more than planning on doing something, and we aren't alone, just, seemingly, the figurehead. It's a start, they can clutch thier pearls all they like, the political will is changing, and they know it.

This is going to get interesting what with several other countries standing with the UK on sanctions, I agree sanction the whole country not just the settlements. tRump is starting economic tit for tat with their 2 neighbours, let's see how that goes, not sure if Greenland is still an ongoing thing, no doubt he will get/has gotten pissy about the Falklands.

I once looked upon America as somewhere I enjoyed visiting but today no fucking way, the whole political establishment needs to be rebuilt from the ground up and tRump has started digging at the foundations.

I disagree. I think it's worse.

I think it'screally doing nothing, but pretending we did something (although we've not lived up to our legal obligations). Meanwhile Israel, which makes fuck all money from the settlements, can cobtinue ethnic cleansing with impunity.

When the job is done, we get to lie and say "we tried".

But we never did.

The only reason we're doing this is that the home audience is getting antsy, so this is to placate us a bit.
