The 74GB 'C' drive in my PC is getting much too full, and one culprit is an insanely large Steam folder.

Is it possible to now move that folder onto my other hard drive? If so how would I go abut it?

Thanks

well that would indeed be extraordinarily simple, but wouldn't it fuck up all my shortcuts etc?

cut and paste, if the folder you copied was called steam I reckon you could create a 'shortcut' and put it in the original area (C:\Program Files?)

Dunno though, give it a try :p

Cut & Paste and then when you try to launch Steam Windows will generally scan your system for the same *.exe file and then update the shortcut location.

Go into yoursteam, right click on all the games you have installed choose "Backup" back them up to your other drive, once you have done that for all the games uninstall steam. Reboot, reinstall it to the other drive.

Copy the backup files into the /steam/steamapps/<emailaddress>/backup folder

Right click the game inside steam, choose install.

All the games shoudl reinstalled very quickly.

Cutting and pasting the folder works, but ti can cause issues with files suddenly becoming protected as i discovered when i did such :)
