That the us authorities are usuing some sort of computer sotware to log ip numbers of internet users who use file sharing software, eg, winmx, kazzaa etc and filing lawsuits against them with the fines in relation to how much they use these file sharing programmes?

Is that definitly the case tho? It was our IT manager at work that told me of this and he said that they were targetting everyone including small time users. But actually, thinking about it your prolly right Karlo i mean, how many people in teh world use these file sharing software? Its got to be in the millions so they surely wont have the resources to first of all find the ip and then issue supina's (is that how u spell it?) against every1 in teh world.

In Feb 2000 it was disclosed that the Strategic Affairs Delegation (DAS) - the french intellegence agency - prepared a report alledging NSA / Microsoft collaboration to install secret software in Microsoft software.

Its possible that they will be apparently "targeting" small time users, its simple scare tactics, maybe make an example of one or two in the hope everyone will stop. TBH I cant see it being a problem for any of us, unles your sharing gigabytes of material, and at least acting as some kind of host.
