And this ladies and gentlemen is why democracy doesnt work. (Along with tris' and tohtoris replies ofcourse)

What has it got to do with democracy? when we stopped rummaging about in the mud and fighting the village over yonder there was no such thing as democracy. the west developed where the third world refuses to.

Now give us facts or piss off.

No. I've told you what i do, and i don't have money to give YET. It's not just a couple of euros. But i guess you missed that. Oh gee. Never claimed to be mother theresa.

But you vote, so you must be better. No wait, i vote too AND do something that is in my doing powers at the moment. Ohwell, Gorb is the one who's always right.

A democratic solution is needed because its the only solution possible. Saying that democracy doesnt work does not contradict that. oh and btw, i think your a disgusting person. Enjoy your little life.. ;o

And for tris: I am discussing this in a constructive manner but what can i say when your comments are something like "why the hell should i care about anyone else"? (And yes the insults might not be constructive but again, what else should i say to a person like you?)

And I think your an idiot who has too much faith in ideal world scenarios. If you want to do something go and do it, posting on an internet forum about it is doing sfa. Seriously if you care so much just leave your life in the west and go and live with the people you want to help so much, i'm sure you'll get a 2 minute overly scripted report on the local evening news which nobody actually watches or cares about.

All you have posted about in this thread is the need to 'discuss things and find a solution, then vote on it'. Do you even realise how incredibly weak this sounds?, do you not think people are already doing this?. What you seem to want is something akin to worldwide equality, but this is never ever ever going to happen unless there is something in it for those benefitting from the current situation. It would require massive fundamental changes in western civilisation and as I said in a previous post 'good luck getting elected to a position of power when your going around telling everyone your going to be fucking them over in favour of helping people the majority of the populace really couldn't care less about'.

I never said we should live like monks. I said that its our duty to find out about things and discuss them, and when the time comes vote for them.

People have thought about it and decided they couldn't give a shit, if you do care so much about the poor little people in the third world, why don't you go over there and feed them. No point sending food and tools though because they will just eat the grain rather than planting it and break the tools.

dont you get it?

calling people idiots and saying people SHOULD do this or that is better for those poor people than actually doing something.

Actually i have given some kind of a plan on how this would be done. If you ask nicely i might just post a more detailed one but honestly i dont see the point. Are you really telling me that the west is powerless to change things? We can, we just dont want to right now.

And i'll say this again.... i think your a very miserable person.

There's no point you detailing a better plan if it's going to be at the same level as the rest of the tripe you've posted in this thread..

So we should talk about stuff, then we should vote.

We'll we've talked about the situation in this thread. Lets vote, then everything will be fixed.

I vote to do fook all, so that's 1 vote for fook all and none for anything else.
I'm actually interested to see the utopia once everyone has casted their votes. It should be fun to live in..

It could be of course that nothing will be fixed once everyone has sent their votes in, in which case you can join us back down here at level 1. Or did you mean, if everyone votes the same way as you, which is that you don't have to do or lose anything while someone else sorts the problem out?

You are under the impression that I actually care about your opinion of me.

& no i'm not telling you the west is powerless, if you had actually read my posts and understood them you would realise I stated quite the opposite.

Then there is no need for me to give a detailed plan on how we will fix everything as we both agree that it can be done if we choose to do so.

Which leaves the question: Why dont we prevent the biggest catastrophy in the history of man kind by giving up virtually nothing?

Answer that for me.

Did you read what i said about the attitudes? I cba to post it all again so read it up but here it is in a nutshell:

When no one talked/cared about global warming/environment nothing happened. Now that everyone talks about global warming things are starting to happen. When smoking was considered a "cool" thing many people smoked. Now less people smoke because smokers are not respected anymore. And i dont rely on "others" to do something. I rely on politicians to do something. And politicians do something when people want it bad enough.

When attitudes about something change politicians start working to change it.

Sure people are debating global warming, but has something REALLY happened? Humanity releasing more co2 into the atmosphere than ever before, and people's lifestyles haven't changed. Nothing has changed except for technology, but nobody has made any personal sacrifice or anything that resembles it. People don't drive less, they don't eat less meat, they don't sit in the dark, and they still leave their tv:s or computers on when they leave home...

In this case however, we need it more than ever to do something, we need personal sacrifice from everybody, and on top of that - yes, we need political change in a bureaucratic mess that is the EU. But if you trust in the politicians to do everything - it seems pretty naive. People may care, but as long as they get their four weeks of vacation, decent taxes, cheap healthcare and and a decent job market, the politicians will never ever have to change anything or do anything.

To compare to global warming is excellent, because it is something that potentially could have devasting effects on the whole world and it could affect us all in all kinds of horrible ways. Considering all this, we still haven't really done anything, and neither has the politicians.

I'm a bit of a pessimist :)

Not enough has happened. But still a significant change from the 90's. (But just imagine what the world would be like if we had never discussed it)

Personal choices will never solve anything... not poverty, not global warming. The only way things will ever change is by laws.

And i never said i was optimistic. But i still have to try.

To put it brutally. Nature can only sustain a certain amount of people, people will only survive if there is enough food and water. If there isn't enough they die and the strongest live on. Africa only supported a certain amount of people for thousands of years, if anything chucking food at them only makes the problem worse.

and dont start on about global warming/cooling/change/whatever they call it this week, its only in the news because its taxable, the ice caps have been getting smaller since the end of the ice age, the earth is returning to its natural state of having no caps.

We have covered this many times already. Nature can only sustain a certain amount of people but that amount is bigger than the amount of people on earth right now. And thats why we have to solve the problem now when it can still be solved.

If you had actually read what i said about global warming then you would know that that comment was pointless.

Don't you seriously see how narrowminded and insulting you are Gorb? :eek7:

Almost every post has an insult in it, and no post sayes anything even remotely discussional.

Not to mention you yet again skipped another post, but, that's a sailed ship.

This one? And what am i supposed to say about it? :O

But one thing i want to know. You keep saying that you actually donate and vote etc (which cannot be seen from your posts on this forum but if you say so then i believe you). How do YOU feel about people like tris, raven and andeah?

Well that's a trap post if i ever saw one.

But, first part:

Yes i do vote, i give what i can, i use used clothes bought from help stores etc. Can't do much, i can say that, because i don't have cash yet.

You can see it from previous posts, you just didn't notice/care about those posts. And as such, you yourself claim i'm better then you. Anyway...into the trap we go:

I don't care what tris- or others do, it's their life, i help if i can and when i want to, and i vote if i want to, they can do the same. If people don't want to help, forcing them to help isn't in any way helping this world, but infact is trying to enforce a marshal law upon people and destroy the very idea of voting, democracy.

People like you are people who, according to their own words, dont give a shit about the rest of the world.

And what exactly is this shit i spew out? That we should help others? Guilty as charged.. :touch:

Political correctness is the language of cowards they say.

Aslong as we have human rights in here we cant force them to do it, but we can sure as hell look down on them for not doing it. And we should.

Oh come on. If the people i insulted had said the things they say here to someone face to face they would have been beaten up. Just look at ravens comments for example? They'll just break the tools!?!? rofl. COME ON!

i dont see how raven would be beaten up for saying that, but i reckon raven is the sort who would say the same thing to someone online or offline.

you on the other hand are not. you can hide here behind your pc and say what you want because in the end you know nothing can happen to you.

i vote
i give to charity

i do the same as you except i dont call people names for not agreeing with me.

Well i wish you had said that 10 pages ago... would have saved us from alot of fighting o_O. Its kinda odd though.... you fight for days about something then you tell me you didnt really mean it.

And trust me, my opinions are exactly the same no matter who im talking to or where.
