IRC Pickup Groups - #pug.daoc on Quakenet

If you're looking for an rvr group but really cant be bothered waiting around at whatever keep you port to, join pug.daoc @ quakenet.

Will eventually get a bot etc but for now things will have to be done manually

get a !addme bot like in the dota pickup chans, then pick 24 ppl from the "best" guilds of each realm... 3 pickup grps from each realm in agramon on certain nights !

will certainly spice things up from current rvr state, see who can build teamplay the fastest

hmm... well we need some suggestions on the table.
my ideas:
easy way: people add to their highlight the classes they play (both short and full name; BM and blademaster) and people spam looking for BM and they pm eachother.

hard way: people add to the bot (ie. PUGMEIGHT001 is looking for BM, DRU, ELD (or caster just caster/tank/support) and when gotten they remove. (so, !add BM DRU ELD and !remove DRU ELD). come with suggestions people.

i can make a bot for this if you can figure out a nice way to actually sign up

a) should the bot suggest groups?
like lets say 2 druids, bard and a warden have signed up, and later 4 "dps" classes signs up, should it inform these ppl that they have the possibility to group?

or

b) people just sign up by class
then other ppl can like !search healer, !search banelord, !search melee etc

latter would ofcourse need like a 15min-60min re-signup timer so that ppl wont signup and go idle

We might want to consider having the bot in 3 seperate parts if thats possible, like, an alb, a hib and a mid one

Could even make a 'main' on for you, and 'clients' for those who want to enter.

Just a note guys - I run a Pick Up group of Hibbies on Tuesdays, I have twice gone in here and got no reply. Am I approaching this all wrong or should I read the thread

It's more or less just a spamchannel. Pointless to asking for group in that channel since I have seen some of the operators mock the one who are doing it.

really? i've made 6-7 fullgroups of people in the channel since i made it, not all of the groups have been succesful, but i have made actual groups, the problem is the lack of people, i was hoping for the like of 150-200 people in there at the very least, but im guessing people just wanna camp their bridges instead of running around with a fullgroup
