Even if there's some "classic" iran/iraq thing going on, saying "The technology used to put satellites into orbit could also be used for launching weapons, analysts said." is just...well...bleh.

Always thought of it as really hypocritical for some country like the US judging everyone else for building nukes or having space programs, when their the only ones who ever used nukes in an assault.

The whole Nuclear discussion is a joke the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty which Iran have signed i believe gives the US the UK and anyone else the right to stop them building nukes. The fact that they still exist is wrong but it will take America or Russia giving up the Nukes they have to get everyone else to fall in behind them. Unfortunatly i do not see that happening.

The tensions between Israel and Iran are at a bottom low, I don't think people in Europe understand this. Israel considers it as a matter of their own existence. They used to be a secular democratic country with an elected government
We didn't like the government they elected democratically
So we imposed a dictator upon them securing our oil supply
The religious fanatics organised the opposition to the dictator
They took over and now we have a country with reason to distrust us ruled by religious fanatics

But we learned from that
Nowadays we support a dictator in Pakistan who's opposed by religious fanatics (amoung others)
So when they eventually take over Pakistan we'll have a hostile country run by religious fanatics who have nuclear weapons

But America has shown us time and time again that they don't really give a fuck what a government gets up to provided they play ball on the "important issues", i.e. those issues that directly impact their own interests.
They were quite happy to turn a blind eye, and even lend a hand through the "school of the americas" in central/south america in the 80's and help out our friends in saudi or good old Islam Karimov these days.
