Jesus can we not do anything with pride? On the news they are showing one of our Type 45 Destroyers (HMS Dragon) being prepared for action. The aerial shots show a clean nice looking warship with a fucking rusting shipping container on the front deck.

Sadly with funding cuts over the years (the biggest of which was because of the Tories iirc) our ships and equipment in general are just fucked. We really need a proper military budget again because watching France send one of their ships to defend our assets is just embarrassing. I'm not saying we need omega budgets so we can have ships out the wazoo but we should at least be able to maintain a good fleet of ships in case such an occasion arises.

Should also bring back mandatory service, might get some of the feral shits off our streets and instil some actual discipline into them/turn them into decent people.

It absolutely is not. Other than "being nuclear powered" it is not more advanced in any way. It has less advanced radar, systems, aircraft, air defences, and automation (in fact the QEs are the most automated carriers in the world by a very long way with a third of the crew of the CdG despite carrying the same number of aircraft and being 25% larger). The only advantage the CdG has is that it can carry an AWACS aircraft, but even that's not that big a deal because F-35s can act as mini-AWACs in their own right.

Normally yes, but the Power Improvement Upgrades were vital to fix repeated issues with the power systems since they entered service in 2009, with total electrical failures not uncommon.

Yeah, no one is saying Iran was anything other than an awful regime but the risk here is enourmous. Hegseth literally said "no stupid rules of engagement, no nation-building quagmire, no democracy-building exercise, no politically-correct wars. We fight to win" What does winning look like for Iran? The US has no idea and they don't care. Their plan is to go in there, fuck shit up, call it a victory and walk away. It's like a scene out of Team America: World Police. They're telling the Iranian people to rise up and overthrow the leadership as if most of the leadership and the IRGC isn't still in place and more furious than ever. It'll be a massacre.

Meanwhile, it's Europe that'll have to deal with the millions upon millions of refugees when it all goes sideways and an even worse regime rises up.
