iphone snyching..

I bought an iphone when my old laptop was borked. I synched it to my friends itunes as you had to do that to register it. I now have a new laptop that I want to sync it too but it keeps saying it will earse all the stuff not in my liabary if I did so.

I've bought some stuff of itunes on my iphone and i'm not sure if I will be able to download them again onto my laptop.

Any ideas how i can sync to my Itunes and desync (if needed) from my friends itunes so that I can transfer music that I bought on itunes to my laptop?

Partly depends if you bought through your own itunes account or your friends. Try going to file and choosing the Transfer purchases from Mey's iphone to download the programs you bought through the phone.

You can activate itunes on 5 different computers and it's tied in with your itunes account.

Indeed, hopefully you set up your own iTunes account. If not, this will be very messy.

Whatever you do don't let it sync until you've got the stuff off of your phone first, if you do iTunes is being perfectly honest and will rub your music.

There are some very good iPod/iPhone apps available from these guys: myPod Apps - iPod & iPhone Transfer Software (I use there free meta-iPod: the iTunes Cleaner software) which should allow you to grab all your music from your phone before doing anything. There may of course be better freeware alternatives.

Ah guys cheers for the help! I worked it out in the end.

I had used my own itunes acc fortunately and it was just a case of (i assume) authorizing this new laptop then "transfering purchases" from my iphone to the laptop. Then I backed it up (incase synching earsed my contacts) then synced it again and it all worked fab!
