Never been my experience with anything new.I didn't think Apple had teething issues. Everything just works doesn't it.
Also why not stay with Google until you have a map system that is actually correct and works properly.
Yes GMaps has been around since the beginning. However the Maps app on iOS was Apples implementation of Google Maps...not googles. Apple neglected to update it, the same as they did with youtube. They were counting on people not knowing this and getting angry at Google for not updating core apps...didn't pan out.Jailbreak is already out for some devices.
I just used it again and navigating to a contact is a breeze just tell Siri to "navigate to home" and boom the route is there.

I am not saying it is great I have not used it in anger yet. But the few tests I have done it has been good. I will never use it for the same reason I never used Google Maps and that is I go through too many black spots for signal to rely on something that needs internet access to function.Yes GMaps has been around since the beginning. And if Apple is so "Amazing" and "revolutionary" and "Its the best apple device ever"....why replace a 5 year old App with a worse version?
Thats my only issue, the fanbois say how amazing it is...but when you actually look at it..its not. Peoples fanboi vision really annoys me
Far as i'm aware. Google actually paid Apple to use their search engine and maps. From googles point of view it was worth the investment to get the software in more peoples hands. It was Apple that refused to do the software updates :/I am not saying it is great I have not used it in anger yet. But the few tests I have done it has been good. As earlier I imagine the relationship between Apple and Google is the reason for the change. Maybe Google wanted to charge Apple for adding turn by turn navigation?
Not this fan boy I love both Apple and to a lesser extent WinMo for getting rid of Widgets and the temptation for me to fuck about with them! Although on WinMo I still move the Bastard live tiles about all the timeIt's quite hilarious the lengths fanboys will go to to defend their beloved Apple. Like with widgets, everyone on Android happily has widgets of one sort or another on their home screen (I've never seen an Android handset without a widget of some description but some people probably do without them) and Apple fanboys sit there defiantly saying how uninterested they are in what is clearly a very good idea. I bet if (probably when) widgets finally turn up in iOS they will be the best thing EVER.
Yeah I turned off the Facebook Contacts but I still had to tidy up my gmail address book.Try going into Contacts > Groups > unstick Facebook
It whores its calendar into your calendar and its contacts into your contacts... one to turn off tbfh.I can barely spot any differences tbh. Maps...um. Passbook, irrelevant outside the US for the time being, a "VIP" thing in email (gaaay) and they've done something to Facebook but I'm not sure what.
