Consider a crit spec:

Critical Strike: 44 + 11 + RR5 = 59
Duel Wield: 40 + 11 + RR5 = 55
Slash: 35 + 11 + RR5 = 50
Stealth: 35 + 11 + RR5 = 50
Envenom: 35 + 11 + RR5 = 50

This is for RR5. You can lower Duel Wield a bit if you are below that and raise Stealth/Slash to match. Just make sure to hit combined 47 Envenom ( 50 when you can afford it / RR5 ).

As per your previous thread on this... with this spec, use Critical Strike styles, ie, Garrote chain, Hamstring chain and ofcourse the PA chain.

tbh i would make slash 36 in that spec, as primary weapon spec past 51 has no effect other than raising WS.

Are the CS styles better or worse compared to DW styles when it comming to making the most dmg or are they about the same?
Does DW only increase chanse to hit with both weap or does it have any other effect when u dont use DW styles?

I also hear that u seldom get the chanse in RVR to really use PA. Dunno why really, maybe jus a roumor :)

If you don't use DW styles, you won't get any other benefit than increased chance to swing.

There is more styles in CS than PA chain. Generally, the CS styles are considered the hardest hitting styles in the game (with a few exceptions not available to assassins).

I PA alot! <o/ playstyle and enemy dependant tho i supose. its harder to land PAs against other stealthers if your not using SL so imo DW gets a bit more advantage there, DS ftw.
Against non-stealthers (read casters :p) then I prefer crit as the PA chain is neato! in terms of dmg calc i cant remember growth on DW/crit etc.
being slash then no stun style really available so crit has that advantage with PA chain having stun, DW has no stun for infil atm but I have heard that the DW stun style that we do not get atm WILL become available to us at some point as an evade reactionary style.
I favour crit a bit more atm, and with high crit the damage that you can get can be very high.

I think current spec I have is what was posted above except I have 50 in cs and its okies, just lower DW 32 or so I think it leaves it at.

If you try DW I recommend;
50 DW
34 Crit
35 Slash
35 Stealth
33 Poison

This gives the DW damage, PA+CD chain for stun and 33 envenom means lvl48 debuff. :D

I heard Dual Shadows(50DW) was "bugged" with Wyrd specing, doesn't use DW spec but your Slash/Thrust instead, is this true?

yes, lvl 50 DW/CD(dunno bout LA) style's style dmg comes from weaponline spec or something like that, so you lose pretty much dmg on it if not specing 50 in your wpnline.

Ask Puppethealer or Gwalmar heard this from them :p

I have 34cs 50dw 35thrust on my infil atm, only low rr, I've been thinking about respecing to either...

44cs 22dw 50thrust

or

39cs 30dw 50thrust

Finding it hard to decide on which, I really want an off evade stun so 50thrust, but I dunno if higher cs or dw will be better overal. :(

Thnx for all the answers! :worthy:
Why is it that people us RR5 as a starting point for their templates? Any special reason?

edit:To get PA to hit harder, does it matter if CS is specced to 50 or added with sc\items?

that spec I mentioned above you might wanna check about cos I do remember reading that DW damage calc was different so modified spec might not be possible, might have to go 50 DW and 50 slash/thrust as well I cant really say. In that case DW/thrust would be my favourite as ofc you will get DF at 50 thrust. Evade/DF/DS/DS/DS/death :p (or DF/DF/DF/death :p)

hmhm higher crit increases cap damage iirc? so you might hit PA for say 700 with 44 and say 800 for 50. (made up numbers but you get the idea)

(this is all off the top of my head and might be as wrong as a midget in a bath of salad cream flicking frogs off)

Im a slashfill so its gotta be PA\CD\DS\DS\DS\Death :) (Britons are not that good with thrust weapons)

I get your point about 44=700dmg and 50=800 but does that have to be specced points in CS or as long as you got PA can the points be added from SC\items?
To be totaly clear: Is 35+15 same as 50 when it comes to doing PA and just thinking of possible maximum dmg? :)

Okay, having tested this a lot on my own infil, this is the calculation I found to get the MAX damage out of you're character:

First, you always want 50 stealth, so spec:
RR1 through RR12
39/38/37/36/35/34/33/32/31/30/29/28
get +11 from items and the rest from RR = 50 stealth at any RR
Now, get 51 WeaponSpec, this make your damage stable, and capped in base:
40/39/38/37/36/35/34/33/32/31/30/29
Go to 44 CS, 50 aint worth it, seeing as 1 point = 9 damage, +10% from ToA = 9.9 pr,. level, the last 285 spec points give only 59.4 damage
this is before modifying, so:
44/44/44/44/44/44/44/44/44/44/44/44
you want highest STR/CON debuff aviable + best disease (sp?) so 48 modified spec
37/36/35/34/33/32/31/30/29/28/27/26
Now, dumb the rest into DW to get a chance to get more hits off with off-hand

With 77-autotrain points:
30/34/37/40/42/45/47/49/50/50/50/50
Without 77-autotrain points:
26/30/34/37/39/42/44/46/48/50/50/50

Now, the DW bit in the end is a bit inaccuare, because you would rather pump up WS or CS damage than going above 40 DW, as then 1 point of DW dont do much

Oh, and for PA cap, 50 spec with no + and 35+15 is the same, yes (can't get 35+15 without getting some bonus to 50 through)

EDIT:

To Summarize:

RR1/RR2/RR3/RR4/RR5/RR6/RR7/RR8/RR9/RR10/RR11/RR12
STEALTH: 39 /38 / 37 /36 /35 /34 /33 /32 /31 /30 /29 /28
WEAPON: 40 /39 /38 /37 /36 /35 /34 /33 /32 /31 /30 /29
CS: 44 /44 /44 /44 /44 /44 /44 /44 /44 /44 /44 /44
ENVENOM: 37 /36 /35 /34 /33 /32 /31 /30 /29 /28 /27 /26
DW: (77auto) 30 /34 /37 /40 /42 /45 /47 /49 /50 /50 /50 /50
DW: (no Auto) 26 /30 /34 /37 /39 /42 /44 /46 /48 /50 /50 /50

Nevermind? why? :) Ty for taking all the time and posting it =)

Thought I could make a table with the RR stuff in it, but seems VB code couldnt do it, so nvm that post, as it didnt work :)

EDIT:

In case I forgot, to do the max damage when you have that spec, you need to use:

PA chain or BS2 for opener (Duh, what infil wouldn't?)

Garrote Chain for anytime

And preferable Hamstring Chain as "backup" incase you get the evade off, dont do much more damage than Garrote (accually more unstable for what I found, so a bit lower) but it increase chance to evade the enemies next attack a lot, giving more surviveablitity, and always remember, if someone tries to run away, garrote his ass, dont use rest of chain, always just garrote :D

Hehe, seems I get some posting done in this thread :D

Well, just wanted to add a few bits that can be usefull extracts from the Wyrds Crazy Style Sheet :)

My Infils Stats:
CS: 44+16 = 60
Weapon = 35+16 = 51
STR= 348
QUI= 246

Britons Rox :)

Base Weapon Damage:
Calculations is unknown, unfortunatly, but hit a lvl 0 mob unstyled to find out (I could not do this, seeing as my infil is on prydwen
I use Malice/Battler = 4.1 SPD both = 4.1 SPD average
Effective Speed:
SPD * (1-((QUI-60)/500))*(1-HASTE%)
4.1 * (1-((248-60)/500))*(1-0) =
4.1 * (1-(188/500)=
4.1 * (1-0.376)=
4.1 * 0,624 = 2.5584

Garrote Dam:
(0.75*CSModSpec)*EffectiveSPD) / Base Dam
(0.75*60)*2.5584 / BaseDam
45 * 2.5584 / Base Dam
115,128 / Base Dam = % damage increase

PA Dam:
75 + Critical Strike Spec * 9 + Nonstyle Cap
75 + 60*9 + BaseDamCap
75 + 540 + BDC
615 + BDC

Now, I happen to remember my PA cap being 859 (before crit), and with +10% Bonuses the 615 = 675.5, 859 - 675.5 = 182.5, think 182 sounds around the base damage I found myself to have, so returning last line of GA argument string:

115,128 / Base Dam = % damage increase
115,128 / 182 = 0,6325
182 * 1,6325 = 297, before bonuses is added (like ToA and resistances)

Hope you can use this, I often hit in the 310 area in my battles, 350 wasn't unseen versus SB's, just mainhand, that is :)

EDIT: I edit to much, but:

http://www.classesofcamelot.com/other/styles/Styles.htm for documentation that these calculations are true...

Simple question for the autotraining mentioned since I'm too lazy atm checking it up ;)

Autotraining to 48 to get 12 stealth and extra 77 points to spend...
I recall some problems with respeccing way back in time, like you autotrained back to minimum level stealth (12) and those autotrained points got lost when respeccing...

Did they change that now ? Need to know since GOA made me an alb last week, and have an infil autotraining atm :eek2:

I have the number of training points I should have at lvl 50 according to http://daoc.catacombs.com/ and have the 12 stealth, so I atleast have 77 free points, I think the common misunderstanding was that some people thought that they should get 12 stealth for free by respeccing, even if they didn't autotrain the first time around, which is not the case, if you did not autotrain during the leveling of the character, you should get 77 deducted from your total training points, unless it is bugged

About autotraining:

The game doesn't know how many points you "should" have at any given level. All it knows is how many points you should earn when going from one level to another.

So what happens when you respec is, that you the game first looks at your current spec lines. Then starts withdrawing them and converting them into spec points pool.

Say you have 35 stealth. Then it makes you have 34 stealth, 35 spec points extra in the pool. Then 33 stealth, 69 in the pool, etc, etc.

Eventually when you have 1 in all spec lines, it looks through and see which are autotrain lines (like stealth), then automaticly uses your spec points and trains you up to the minimum level for that (12 with a level 50 character).

So, you will never lose points. But, you will also never be able to move spec points out of a spec line.

The area where this is a problem is for classes that autotrain in more lines than they often use... and have used /level. Since you don't autotrain while /level, you won't have achieved those "free" points in all 3 of the melee lines. Once you respec, you will thus lose points as they are deligated into those melee lines. This forinstance, is a major problem for a class like the warrior with 3 autotrain lines.

OK...
But if you always keep the autotrained stealth, can you pick up on it later on ?
Say auto training to lvl 24 and getting 6 stealth, then specc some stealth for thid, and after that respecc back stealth to lvl 6 ? Will it keep autotraining then ?

Anyone done this ?
