Whats so urgent about prydwen anyway?

Are peoples life at stake? (well some people might claim yes..)

Yes around 500 ppl are effected by its downtime but its nothing so important that they have to call all there staff in, they have already offered to compensate us with free time AND underpopulation bonus.

Was prydwen being down a big problem to you? not really, it wasn't for me and i had several raids to run etc but its not like peoples lifes are in danger etc. Like it or not, prydwen players are only 500 off at least 20000 daoc players supported by GOA.

And Besides...its not like Mythic worked weekends so whats the point of GoA support coming in only to tell us Mythic aren't in there office for another 3 days.

Picture this Bubble.... 500 disappointed, sad or even angry ppl in a room, all disappointed, sad or angry because of a service you was supposed to execute.. but dident. Would you fell you had a problem? Even if ppl's lives isent at stake? Where I work it would be a big problem!

If we boil it all down ... prydwen is a business, and therefore it must be urgent for the ppl who run this business.

Its not a problem for me at all. And I think the compansation will make most ppl happy. AND im sure GOA/Mythic do what they can to get us back in game. Dont take this as im QQ or "I dont have a life".... its ment as: - who are you to judge how big a problem this is to ppl?

And who are you to think this world spins around you.
So if this person who works as a GM for GoA and doesn't get paid/asked to come in, he should do so anyway? Should he cancel spending the weekend with his Wife and Kids? Should he cancel attending that wedding?

Its a computer game remember :|

It's still money involved. If DAoC was Guild Wars there would be alot less to whine about. Because the game is free after you buy it. =(

Where in my post did i hint anything about who the world spins around?

Where did I say that someone should work and not get payed?

What wedding ?

Im sure you can handle my response in a more adult way!
My only point in that post was to point out for you that you can't judge how big a problem is to ppl you dont know. That is a fact!

You must have been posting without reading the whole thread

Edit- You ask me 'Who i am to judge' i ask you who you are to ask someone to come into work on a holiday without pay.

You seem to be suggesting that the only time people can become passionate about a quality of service issue is if it endangers someone's life. Surely there is some scope for issues to be less threatening but still significant enough to complain to your service provider?

or are we thinking "Dear telephone provider, I was extremely upset when my service went down and you didn't fix it"

"Dear customer, unless your life was endangered, please don't complain".

Read it all, but there is nothing about any wedding in this thread.

And at NO time did i ever say that ppl should work without getting paid ( getting total deja vous here ) Did i say that before? :touch:

BTW... i feel i keep answering your questions... you never answered mine!

What i mean is, if someone supports 200 different servers effecting 10000 people, if one of those non critical servers went down and it effected 10 people, you would ofc get the server back up again asap but you wouldn't go into work on a weekend without pay to get something non critical back up online.

The 'endangers' peoples life bit was an attempt to make people understand its only a computer game and its not the end of the world :(

Such nice people here.

Answer this for me-

1. Do you have a Job?
2. Is it a 9 to 5 Weekday Job?
3. If a unimportant problem occurs during a weekend, would you travel 15 miles to go into work without pay to sort it out?

Throw them a Bone, i'm sure they are working well towards getting the servers up.

1. Yes
2. Well... 8 to 4 CET ( what diff. dose it make what time ppl is working?? )
3. How important a problem is will depend on who have the problem imo. What might be a small problem to me might be a big problem to other..... so if it is a big problem to someone .... ofc i would!

"You ask me 'Who i am to judge' i ask you who you are to ask someone to come into work on a holiday without pay." -All she actually said was that SHE would do it :D

Yeah thats great and all, i'll play along

1. Yes ofc its a problem, but low important and how to prioitise is the true question(which moves us to #2).
2. I have just as much right to say how big the problem is as you have to demand someone to come into work without being paid (NONE!!!)
3. When you asked said you would come into work on a weekend so solve and unimportant problem and not get paid for it, i guess this was a lie or you didn't understand the question. This go's back to #2 do you expect people to bend over backwards.
4. You answered you would, its true you didn't say you don't expect others too and your answer suggested your expectations.
5. An example you didn't understand but i'll summeries it in plain english for you- If he had a social life or events, should he be expected to cancel them for a unimportant problem?

The way she worded it, but i guess that can't be helped.

Anyway, i'm off to bed now that the bastard in the flat below me has stopped playing Heavy Metal music @ 1am in the morning, so we can continue this 'discussion' in the morning.

I feel that nomatter how i split the questions up you still cant answer/read them. Maybe im wrong. :D

1. How can you decide that it is not important if 500 ppl are affected.

2. Right here tho Bubble ... you have none! And dont tie that to me ... i dident at any point say ppl have to work if not paid... EVER!

3. So you say that i asume that the world spins around me because i would work if someone had a problem that i could solve? Oh ... and i lie too! :twak:
And no .... i dont expect people to bend over backwards unless they are payed to do so ofc! :kissit:

4. I dident suggest any expectations. Must be something in your head.

5. Ohh ... so this was hypothetically ( spelling ? ) Maybe that was why it dident make any sence.

This reply shows 'Suprise', this can be taken 2 ways, Suprise that you yourself would come in. Or Suprise that others don't do the same. Since you didn't give any clue to which you ment, #2 was good enough for me since you were continuing to post.
