Frankie - I think Embattle meant 'where the fuck did u here of a 1.4 astra GTE and cheap insurance on that gay capri'
Mikey - Volvo 440 turbo... cant say i like em - they look shite... the clio 16v would be more fun m8y...
Performance figures:
Clio 16v: 0-60 = 7.6 secs, 130mph tops
440 Turbo: 0-60 = 9 secs, 124 topz
Go for the pioneer head unit... they have a much crisper sound and are more powerful than sony's. 4*45w RMS from the pioneers and it sounds like it too
Frankie - u dont want 6x9's everywhere m8... thats only for volume, not quality...
The ideal solution on the cheap:
Powerful head unit (go for the latest pioneer or kenwood units for around 200 quid)
Front: 6" mid/bass and 1" tweeter components - a decent make like kenwood, sony etc will have some for about 50 quid.
Rear's: 6*9's on the rear shelf. Make yer own shelf using 3/4 inch thick MDF. JBL make nice 6*9's but ive heard some boss sound 25 quid jobbies (180w i think) and they sounded quite nice with plenty of bass.
Then, a single 12" sub in the boot powered by a decent amp, or a dual 10" setup for a bit more volume.
Thats it really... 6x9's everywhere takes the piss anyway - they need a good mounting depth otherwise they sound fucked up... On the back shelf they use the boot space as a cabinet so get decent resonant bass
Cheap subs, some are quite good... I had this 20 quid 12" bass force affair - boxed up properly it wanna too bad
But, TFG audio up north have a top deal atm. A twin 10" bass box using quite nice looking white subs labled 'aluminium' or something and a fully built, carpeted ported box for 100 quid... I've read reviews and apparently its got niiiice sound and excellent value. I might get one
Sony minidisks - about 150 if you look around... theres only one model for that price (i cant remember its name like...) but its the one u want.
Pioneer get my vote tho, but u may have to spend closer to 200 for a MD unit.
