Exor - I have one word for after u you been dissin me - TIT!
How bout this... 18 i am indeed, plus im skint.
I bet you your mummy and daddy pay for your lovely cars... fuckin lame m8, go buy em yerself with hard earned cash - thats what i intend to do.
That nissan GTI-R would twat that gay beemer and ugly alfa into next yr my friend. Its hard, fast and an overall excellent performing car. Beemer = a bit old man and cant go *too* fast round corners cuz u'll spin the cunt.
Alfa = boring
Go get knotted b4 you start having a go at ppl with realistic ideas - i.e. the ppl without rich parents.

um....I work full-time as a C++ programmer, my parents have never bought me anything of value, nor do they intend to. Infact, I have more spare money than both of them put together. I pay my own insurance, tax, and every penny of the car. The only reason I insure myself in my mums name is because an Alfa GTV in my OWN name costs 7 grand a year fully comp, as apposed to about 3 grand in my mums name. A nova in the name of a teenager will be below a grand, even in their own name.
Alfa Romeo GTV is hardly boring, and I dont see that its ugly. Driving a car called a "sunny" is very lame, just cos its a bit "boy racer style" quick, doesnt mean it isnt shite.
I was looking at the Nissan Almera GT. The only thing I would do is put some 16" wheels on it and a Sony Mini disc unit. No big ass speakers, I've already got a DJ rig at my house.
And I must confess I hate the people who drive past and all you can here is BASS... Why??? I like my dance music as you all know, but come on don't you want to listen to it...
Yep BMW and Merc are crap, unless you spend £50,000 and get the 5Ltr versions etc. The car I really want, is a Subaru Impreza GT!! All 300Bhp of it...

when i was a lad (j/k) i had a 1974 mini 998cc (impressive or what
) and its probabaly the best car i have ever had, i was really depressed when i got rid of it ..
if u want cheap insurance and dont mind "binding the rulz" dont have urself put on as a named driver, just make sure u mums insurance allows ANY OTHER DRIVER, u will be limited to third party cover while ur driving it, but it can cost such a lot in the first place .....
i did this for over a year when i upgraded me mini to an audi coupe (they wanted more to insure it than i paid for it
) and it saved me a fortune.
PS
The bastards lie about it getting cheaper as you get older, is this familier any one ?
ME:
so Mr Insurance Man, iam 21 now so its a lot cheaper right ?

iam only 28, but i guess it carrys on
(can any oldies confirm deny this ?)
the best cars i think are:-
Nissan Sunny GTI-R (pi$$ all over cossies)
Nissan Bluebird 2.0 I GSX (cause i have one and there like shite of a shovel)
Nissan Skyline 34GTR VTec (1000+ BHP, Nuff said)
The EVO 6 (Cool Looks)
Volvo 850 T5 Estate(dunno the latest one but this model looks cool and pisses over everythin)
MG Metro 6R4 (What a exelent car, anyone in the know will agree)
The worst cars i think are:-
My grandads car (3 wheel thing)
Ladas (ever see a lada with a cossie engine under the bonnit, pritty rapid)
Nova (little kids with big box on back to make fart noise)
Deawoo (cause they copy other makes)
Last but not least the new feasta anyone buying one of them needs to be put away
Yep I agree with regards to the Nissan Skyline. One beast!! My next car is going to be a Seat Ibiza 20v anout R/S reg. Or a Renault Clio 16v. I lurv small cars. I'm 22 now with 2 years No claims etc. So I hope I can get one of the above. However instead I may bugger off to Australia and Thailand for a while. Particularly the Full Moon Beach Parties.
Boy this is going to be an expensive year, cause I'm also wanting to do
Homelands (again)
Glastonbury (again)
Berlin Love Parade.
Anyone here pass any thoughts about the 2 cars I've mentioned

Oi the sunny GTI-R is a hard and excellent performing car - u cant knock it for what it does m8...
Nova's - i want one as fiesta's and any other ghey cheap car is shite in comparison...
I like me mitubishi lancer evo's... the new 42k rallyish one is a minter!
Me boss drives a skyline GTR - mint car...
exor - c++ programmer eh? And @ 18 too... Lucky break then... how much u on a year? More than me by a lng way prob - hence me cheaper cars... dont say what i like is gay - i aint loaded hence my choices - ok? Thanks
Anyway........ i like lots of cars so thats all for now... or something!
oh yea, the very latest clio top of the range sporty beest (cant remember model name!) is a v. nice 2 litre 170BHP machine! Looks smart too compared to other new clio's... id have one anyway... Oh yea, me gonna have subs in me car - bass is nifty! I can always turn it down in sensible max quality mode
well in principle 'overclocking' a car is just modifying the engine to gove more BHP and Torque... then u have to fine tune all the components to match the power! Brakes, susupension etc...
I overclocked me mountain bike, not me caaaar yet tho (need to own one 1st!)
well thanks everbody, thanks a lot for making me have 46 e-mails waiting for me when i tuned in today. took a whole 5 mins to download, SLAGS.
anyway, now my thread has turned from Q3 is shat, to what cars are best etc ( How the hell did that happen ) ill say a few things.
ok 17, soonish, have about a grand to spend on a car, thinking of these.
ford escort 1.4, new or old type.
astra 1.4 gte, old type, big back version.
Nova, seems a bit dodgey as everyone elase has 1.
mini ?????????
toyota corrola 1.3 ???????
ford CAPRI 1.6, insurance tis good, nice looking car too.
thats about it
any ideas for a first car, notice the FIRST, so no nissan xri-gti-lalalalal I, twin turbo prop fan, super nitro injection, supercharged, etc etc. ( dont think i would get insured somehow)
2) u can throw them arround corners in ways you would not believe
2) girlies think there cute
4) there so simple that u can fix almost anything that goes wrong on em, without taking it into a garage
5) they are piss cheap to buy/insure
6) you will be buying british
Seriously, my 1st car was a mini and its probally the favourate car i have had (and ull find alot of ex-mini owners who will concure), still if u can run to it get an old XJS
You CAN overclock your car IF its a fuel injection/turbo, its called
"CHIPPING"
you can make the engine execide the manufacturers tollerances and boast the bhp by changing the micro-chip which controls the engine management systems,
but off couse your warrantry is fucked anf you will shorten the expected lifetime of your engine
Me likes the silly 'overclockingness' of the reno 5 GTT... just spend 30 quid on a bleed valve and wind up the boost till the engine detonates!
Piss simple to mod on the cheap 5 GTT's are... specially compared to RS Turbo's. Most ppl use chips on those... and cossies, and GTI-R's, and scooby's, and lancer evo 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6's
Forget the Clio 16v. Change of plan, I've got a 2LTR Volvo 440 Turbo coming my way. It's lovely to drive and goes like shit off a shovel! The question is I want a cheapish Pioneer or Sony CD/MD player to fit into it. I'm not into all these crap bass boxes etc. You hot up a car and then, kill the performance with the amount of audio equipment in it! DUH!
The only other things I hope to do is drop a decent exhaust on it and some 16" wheels.

lo there
embattle whatcha wanna know ?, where i hear wot ?.
anyways back to the car thing.
i heard the best way to go for getting good sound is having good 6 x 9 " speakers everywhere. have two in the front door, and two in the back shelve. make sure they can take 40 watt RMS, and then wire them up to a nice AIWA, or SONY head unit. Front loading CD slot, all nice, 40watt x 4, with pre outs, for about 130 quid. and has a line in, so u can hook ya minidisk player up to it. speakers aint that much, about 50 quid a pair. if u want some bass, that will all do, but if u want more, then u could go for a nice JBL power amp, its 150 watt bridgeable, meaning if u only got 1 sub in boot u can wire both channels into 1 to give u 300 watt. Thats 130 quid, and then the sub itself would be anything from 20 quid to 200. The more expensive ones are the JBL power sub, they range from 8" to 12", go for the 12 as its more rich bass. thats all you really need. alltogether its under 500 quid.
ASK TUG about those cheapo SUBs, he says they r good.
I won't be changing the speakers (not at the moment) in the Volvo as they are really crisp and clear good quality. I just want to listen to my CDs and MDs. The line out option for my Mini Disc player would be PERFECT! Do you know which model you are refering to for the Sony unit, £140 would be sweet as well.
I couldn't live without my MD player as I've got so many brilliant essential mixes.
