1/2 a round of sandwich = 1 slice of bread. This may mean it is a single slice, cut in half (or folded if feeling lazy) with filling between the two halves. It may also indicate that a great many sandwiches have been made, and a person gets one half of a sandwich made from 2 slices, ie half of one round.

Here's another thought.... why the fuck would anyone bother inventing the term 'round' if a 'slice' was sufficient to describe the same thing?
