Myself living in a town which is more or less pikey central for Kent, have had quite a few encounters with them. I've gotten into a fight or two, and have been the victim of an attempting mugging (only attempted because this huge 7ft guy I know came around the corner at a kick ass time). When I was younger one of my friends was attacked when he was in town with his girlfriend, and was hit in the face so hard his braces pierced his cheek and he now has a scar to remember the event.

Just travel in numbers and avoid the pikey fortress that is McDonald's.

Tell the Police, so it gets recorded in the increasing violent crimes statistics, go to casualty and get a tetanus shot, go to the criminal injuries board and get a phat payout.

I'd do that - somebody attempted to snatch my mums handbag while she was on her way into town a year or two ago. They didn't manage it though, she held onto it, but got pulled to the ground and injured her elbow (hairline fracture). She reported it to the police and then got told about the
'Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority' filled out a form, saw a doctor and within a few months received a cheque for £3,300 :D

Minimum payout is £1000 btw

No one has even looked at me funny since moving away from cities. Bliss :D

Infact, no one tried to mug when I lived in Glasgow, either. But that may be due to the fact that, at the time, I had long red hair. Oh, and I'm 6ft 5". :) </smarmy>

Go to the police about this shiat, if you don't, this sort of thing will never end.

That wee dick deserves to be shot. No trial, no jury, just straight to the firing wall.

It ain't a nice experience, shakes you for a couple of days. Had a similar experience with a tramp one time, except he pulled a dirty needle out on me.

Please do go and report it - you shouldn't carry a knife unless you are prepared to use it, and it's obvious these guys are. The next person might not get off so lightly (and it's very sad when a gaping hole in your neck is lightly). I know you are worried about repurcussions, but let's face it - you don't mug ONE person with a knife and then find god. If they do it once, they do it to other people, and hopefully the police will already be looking for them for other cases.

Also, get that wound checked out. God knows what rankness pikeys do with their knives when they aren't threatening people with it, but I see them more as the "poke a dead cat with a knife" people, than the "run it through a sterilising flame". Any wounds that close to your heart you DON'T leave to fester - and that cut looks like it might need stitches. You happen to move your neck around quite a bit, making it a crappy place to get a cut and leave it to heal naturally.

Totally shocking Frizzy. Smackheads are the new scumbags of this century.

Get it looked at asap. Tell your parents as well.

I wouldn't bother reporting it.

The police won't care about it, and even if they did, they have no chance of finding the guy and putting him away for it. Don't waste your breath (coming from someone that's been through it himself, and seen other people go through it).

He should report it, if nothing else just to make sure the police know that someone's staggering around with a knife. If nothing else, so that crime statistics can show that the country is getting more messed up. You don't have to press charges against anyone (assuming they could even find anyone) but I think it should at least be recorded. Someone else could have got badly cut up that night by the same people, and be too shocked to give any details.

If it was a one off, fair enough, but you can't deny that the strong chances are other people are going to be attacked by the same people, and the more often it happens the more likely someone's going to end up stabbed.

btw - forgot to mention they don't need to catch the pikey scumbag for you to get compensation. They never caught the one that attacked my mum.

Definatly see a doctor at least, but also go to the police. That looks like a very nasty cut tbh
