Hello,

Just a quickie. Any body have any idea why internet explorer suddenly refuses to "show" all images on every web page. For instance there are no smileys showing on any of BWs pages now and no logos etc. If you right click and "show picture" they appear (one by one ). I don't think the kids have done anything and feel im just missing something obvious.

Windows me

thx

Try checking windows ie tools, then internet options, then click the advanced tab and look down for multimedia, there is a tick box for disabling pictures there .

Shut it

Check proxy servers if your with ntl: I live in the luton area and have had a shite proxy for nearly a month which is not displaying some pages and stuff. So I use another proxy in IE and all is fixed :)

Do a forced refresh, I think its either Ctrl-F5 or Shift-F5, your cache may be b0rked.

All my browsers are for Windows.:p

Just started using Phoenix, and its really nice. Really really nice. If only it had mouse gestures it'd be perfect.

First of all, you other guys do not suck at all (can you guess my problem hasn't gone away yet ).

Secondly my problem is getting worse by the day....... Apart form not displaying any pictures at all so that every page is starting to look like a mad pirates treasure map (all the red x's, you see), internet explorer now refuses to load practically everyother page - i have to go to google to find a link to certain pages because entering the url produces a error page.

I checked my settings for "show pictures" and it's ticked and I've ctrl refreshed (which doesn't work with ntl cause they have disabled it apparently) but no joy. and I've changed my lan settings/proxy to different servers in the same building to obtain fresh pages but all to no avail.

Arrrrgh I want to see pikchas!!!!

So you have been here and tried different proxies?

I'm almost certain this is your problem...

oldlester im guessing you are using IE 6 Service Pack 1.

If this is true then you have a common problem with the new version. MS do know about the problem and 'eventually' plan to fix it.

To the best of my knowledge the only way to fix it is to downgrade to IE 6 (original) if you are using IE Service Pack 1 or try another Internet Browser

I have exactly the same problem (and have tried changing my web proxy PR. :p), and the only way I am fixing the missing pictures is Right Click Picture > Show Picture, it works, but not very well :(

Well, strangely, none of your advice has worked so I downloaded Netscape navigator, which was fine, and I've started my pc today and IE is fine again. Perhaps it made a new years resolution to work or something. Or IE knew I was preparing to use another browser and decided to straighten up and fly right.

Crazy bloody computers......
