if theres a message board, somewhere, where people are allowed to truely share they're beleifs with others without being banned. people like karam, i loved karams rants, and i loved it when people argue'd with him, although it sucked when a mod came along and closed every decent debate he started.

nowerdays the forum is just a dull spam infested sewer, i realise that maybe a gaming off topic forum isnt the place for that kind of talk, but is there a place like it? anyone know of one? where we could go and actually openly debate without the fear of some mod around the corner waiting to close your thread?

i've noticed alot of people becomming increasingly bored and frustrated with the lack of decent debate going on, and i'd like to see it re-kindled somehow.

That's the thing... you're allowed to discuss things, but not certain things...

but the things we can discuss are just dull. we cant get into the juicy debate, we cant talk about the more taboo and sensitive subjects without being banned/having threads closed. sure if people dont like that kinda debate, they dont have to join in, but i know for a fact theres a few people out there that enjoy a good argument.

The problem is you can't discuss anything on these boards without it turning into a flame war.

Yeah and it's totally against the forum's CoC. Therefore the mods have to delete/close the threads.

and thats why im saying it'd be better with a different board, without the flamers, where a decent debate could happen, without the hundreds of gaming kids comming in flaming without understanding the post.

at the end of the day, what did you enjoy more? reading posts talking about really sensitive issues in the open, arguing different points, something everyone could join in on. or these pure pure spam threads, that have no meaning and no interest.

There's probably loads out there. I'm pretty much happy with BW. If you avoid all the whiners, there's some cool people on these boards. :D

There is other types of threads besides discussive and spam.

i agree, there are 'some' cool people on these boards, definatly, but theres also alot of uncool people, the majority being mods. woops there i go getting banned, but i know it IS the mods jobs to keep order, thats fair enough.. i'd just love to find a place where we can really speak about stuff.

If you go about it the right way, you can discuss most things on these boards. Except maybe racism because other people always seem to jump in with "oh so witty" replies like "stupid 'roid".

karam always spoke about racism/sexism and other uber taboo subjects that just plain rocked, i remember some of the 5 pagers he made before they were locked.

im just saying, how good would it be if there was a totally modless board, where you could go and literally just spew the most disgustingly aweful horribly sickening views without being banned? :D

The problem was... he was just too blunt in his opinions. He wasn't willing to accept anyone elses view, it was just "I think this therefore this is how it is".

yea but that made good debate lol. it really got people wound up, and really got people jumping in and starting arguments with him.

...and that's what got him banned. Starting arguments is not the best thing to encourage. Discussing opinions is fine, arguing isn't the best way of going about it.

i dunno.. i enjoy arguments, in person and on boards, whats wrong with um? there isnt a better feeling than proving someone utterly wrong and having 100% confidence that your right, even if your not.
