The price plan has only been out a month and I'm pretty sure the people who got the pack on the 4th(?) of June have done what "a lot of people" do with their new toys which is play with them until their fingers bleed. Hence why your "a lot of people" suddenly saying that [ Primefarm.co.uk - For all your hosting needs You can thank me later Chilly ] the plan sucks as they were only able to play _THAT_ video of a duck jumping through a hoop on YouTube 50 times a day when showing off their N95 to their Burberry-infested friends.

Do you even need that much bandwidth a month? The only ones I've seen use it lots and lots are corporate users and in most of their cases the costs aren't really an issue as they're not the ones who receive the bills.

The people im referring to are on phone forums, they use tmobile who have had the data package for a while and it tells them how many MB they have used, so you can compare that to the vodafone 120Mb limit can't you?

You don't understand Cyfr, I look at people's bills everyday to find out why they're leaving Vodafone so I see how much people are using - no-one had come close to 120Mb yet. On a phone that's a massive amount of data, especially considering all the pages you view on VMI are reduced in size to ease downloads and so they fit on your screen without all the scrolling. With T-Mobile you have to scroll and download the whole page. Also that deal you've been quoted is rubbish to be honest - you're paying £40 for 600 minutes OR 1200 texts, we'll do you 500 minutes AND unlimited texts for £35. T-Mobile's also the only network I've had calls begging to come back from.

If you use more than 120Mb in a month even on an N95 you're an idiot and deserve everything you get. The only big downloads that phone needs are the maps, which are preloaded on the memory card with us. Even if they arent you can get them off the normal net and download them to your phone anyway. Anyway problems with the N95 :-

1) Shocking battery life. You'll be charging it every day.
2) Software issues. It's an N-series what do you expect? I had one for the weekend, it crashed 5 times. My W950 does that in a month if you're a cretin with it.
3) The camera isn't that great. The pics off the K800i are almost as good, better if you factor low light into the equation. It takes about 10 seconds to boot up the camera and take a snap.
4) The build quality is suspect.
5) You'll have to go on a phat contract to get it free. With your usage you should be paying £30 a month tops.

Oh and it's only 10p a minute for voicemail if you've got no minutes left. Otherwise its free.

I understand what you're saying, a few things though:

500mins and unlimited texts, £35, but the phone cost is £150 and the contract is 18months where as the tmobile one is 12. Then if you factor in £7.50 for the internet, it costs more over 12 months than the £47.50 (£50 phone) contract, but then you have the additional 6months to pay. Additionally the £47.50 one includes instant messaging which the vodafone one doesnt..

Do you get any warning if you're going to go over the 120Mb limit? I know you say its unlikely, im just concerned that if I did go over it wouldn't inform you (like minutes) and it'd cost me a fortune.

ps. I don't think i stated my real usage, I get the 200mins and 400texts, but my bills often shoot up to £50 because I go over these allowances. Generally its text that I use most.

I thought I'd quote this again just in case you missed it. Bear in mind they also charge you by the minute (get through to an answering machine and WHOOP there's a minute gone.....or two texts if you're on a FlexT tariff) and always come bottom of the reception tables. Could that be why they're cheap?

Anyway if it's 12 months you're after, 500mins/500 texts for £40, phone is £50. Or even better, phone us direct and see what one of my colleagues in Direct Sales can do for you. Oh and as far as I'm aware each page you load tells you how much it costs. So if you have bundle left it'll show free, if you don't it won't.

yes Wii's are proving to be very popular. I for one like to embrace current and new technologies and not live in the past.

If we only ever did that we would still be sitting in caves eating raw meat and grunting. That highlights the difference between those that have a Wii and will buy an iphone and those that own a next gen console and a current technology phone. It is us that ensure there is a demand to evolve.

Absolutely no idea, don't even know if you can. Think it might be one of those little foibles SE phones do tend to have. The K850 also has an internal automatic lens cover.

Anyway as a quick aside I've just discovered something which may be of use to anyone who's got a SonyEricsson the FastPort connector is getting intermittent on. This happened to my W950 which was starting to have trouble detecting a headset. Simply get an old toothbrush and give the connector a good scrub. I did this and the headset gets detected everytime. I then tried it on my old W900i which wouldn't even charge and hey presto! One fixed W900.

Which I now have to use all the time as my W950 won't detect my SIM card. It'll detect and old PAYT SIM no bother, but not mine Might have to get on the phone to staff accounts, although last time I did they were too busy trying to fob an upgrade on me. I basically get a free phone of my choice for 12 months (except the N95 funnily enough), only thing is I have to give it back at the end. So I dunno whether to go for a K800i now or wait a bit and get the K850, considering I have two more lines up for upgrade before January. Decisions, decisions.....

Anyway, been watching some vids on the apple site (and apparently the screen is just as good "irl" as it is on the promo vids. If the ui is anywhere NEAR as good as the promos suggest it is then this phone is going to SHIT all over every single other phone. Sure you can whine about the fact that it doesn't have the latest this or that, but ultimately the UI is *such* a revolution I don't think it matters. It's really resetting the bar for mobile devices.

I'm not at all an Apple fanboi but I like innovation, and quite frankly this device has it in spades. A measly 2mbit camera and possibly no 3g - who cares tbh, that interface is fucking fantastic.

The UI isn't that much of a revolution I'm afraid, most of the "new" features have been in UIQ for years. With iPhone you use your finger instead of a stylus, but most things on UIQ can be done without a stylus too. Plus, however funky the interface is, it won't do much good when the touchscreen throws a wobbly and you need to use the number keys. Oh wait it doesn't have them.....

Sure, and having a landline phone with no pulse dial option is ridiculous because what if the tones stop working properly.

This is progress, sure it'll have teething problems but quite frankly kudos for going for it. I don't know much about UIQ but I'm assuming it's much the same as the stylus based operation of my Windows Mobile phone (Orange's O2 XDA mini s clone). If that's the case, it IS still a revolution. I'm not sure if you've seen the usage videos but it's not just a case of point and click, it's much more innovative than that. I use my finger/fingernail for my pda phone all the time and it's nothing compared to what the iPhone can seem to do.

Also, that's just one aspect of it, the OS of the iPhone in general just looks incredibly well put together and, well, fucking pretty. Not necessarily the most important thing but I watched a video demo of that new SE phone you were raving about and the iPhone reviews and I know which one I want.

Assuming the iPhone is massively popular (which of course it will be/is already) we're going to see a lot of manufacturers looking to copy the innovations that they've put in the iPhone - given that I think it looks fantastic, this is a very good thing.

I've been turned off of apple especially their bloody ipods with their ridiculous itunes rubbish.

I do like the look of the iphone I must say and the interface is very impressive.

The phone does have some substantial limitations which do annoy me - no gps now, probably not for a while, and a fuckedwith bluetooth port. Also, no SD card slot, and evidently no way to change the sim card whatsoever. God knows why they decided against GPS functionality given that it's becoming so readily available - the google maps functionality is nice but really doesn't compare at all. The lack of an SD card slot and no ability to access the sim card or change battery seems all in the interest of making a sleek looking unit. Granted, it looks fucking nice but that's pretty crap if you ask me - same for the iPod, all L-Ion batteries die in the end, but you've gotta pay apple £50 for a complete iPod replacement instead of just buying a new battery.

Anyway - despite that, still looks like an ace phone with some ace features. Can't wait to see those features linked in with GPS, SD card slot etc.
