...mildly abusing the thread tags.
But enough about that. I'm probably going to hell - but I think this may be fucking ridiculous. Is it?
Now, don't get me wrong. 5 million quid for being spacked up - not a problem. But not far short of half a million pounds a year for her family for the rest of her life?
Not being funny, but that seems excessive to me.
Don't get me wrong - the five million quid compo I haven't a problem with. But how much does a full-time carer cost if her mum wanted to go out to work?
On £450,000/year for life that's enough to give Mum, Dad, Brother and Sister £100k a year each and have £50k spare to pay a live-in carer
What do you get if you lose an arm or both arms, or an eye, or get blinded in a car accident? About five or ten grand? What do armed forces servicemen get when they lose both legs? What is disability benefit for a woman who's given birth to a disabled child rather than having one foisted upon her through a car accident?

A six-year-old West Midlands girl who suffered severe brain damage in a car crash involving a speeding driver has been awarded nearly £5m compensation.....Cerys' family will in addition receive £450,000 a year for the rest of her life
