I hate scammers like Stirlopsed aka Sweetypie!

i got scammed
it happened monday; my bf made a transfer on my acount from excal to camlann.
sweetypie was asking in broad if someone wanted to make a transfer from exc/mid to camlann.
he wanted 5P on excal for 4P on camlann. he said his internet conection was bad, was possible he would go ld... :s

my bf is writing a complaint to rightnow, dunno if it will help a lot, but the least thing goa can do is to give the names of all his alts so all peeps will know what kind of guy he is!!

its likely they copied there 50's name from a respected player, to gain trust. if this is the case, it is indeed against the CoC on the player respect part or whatever, requiel said

and that scammer in jordheim says he wants 15plat on mid/excal or alb/pryd for 10plat on camlann. if any 1 can host 3 screenshots, i can post how i gave him a head ache was so funny coz i wreckon after 5 minutes talking to him he should have realised i knew he was scamming and just pissing him off but

I personally wouldn't trust people named like "serenety cutie sweetypie lurigurlxnrsixteen luripie" the list goes on. Obviously baiting you up with their calm, attracting nicknames to trust them.

The 2 times I made business on camlann so far were done with my guildie on excal (money trade) and a guy who I didn't know but it was a sc order and he was nice if I count the way he did the pay/item stuff.

Just need to use common sense. If you want to money trade with someone you don't know (I don't recommend doing this), you better convince him he should give you the money first.

I'm not going to comment on this specific case because I haven't looked into it. However I'll re-iterate our policy and our general line on this sort of thing.

Trading is always at your own risk. As Rulke rightly says, if you trade some money for a promise of somthing later, then effectively you have traded something for nothing. We can't make people keep a promise.
However there is a deliberately vague section in the CoC about respect for other players and good conduct in game. This is where as a GM I can exercise a bit of discretion and take action against people who are clearly setting out to scam or otherwise grief. This discretion is limited as I am still bound by our general trading policy whereby legitimate trades (i.e. where your account hasn't been 'hacked' and you've agreed to the trade then pressed accept) are still final even if the other party later reneges on the agreement.

Pretending to be someone else (and thereby damaging an innocent person's reputation) is always griefing and is always punishable.

a while back i put an old post about this guy called nanar. basically he would say he can sc real cheap. he would trick ppl to give him the item so he can sc it when really you just have it in the trade bar. anyways he stole so much stuff he got shit loads of money.

the problem is once you press accept they can do what they like. maybe if you ask them to type

i accept the terms of this trade and i will give you xxx on alb pryd

this was when you make a screenie to goa you have proof that they scammed you. with that maybe they can transfer the money.

its shit luck and tbh i dont bother with transfers its too risky....plus i pester tsabo for rvr money
