It doesn't frost up like old freezers, but during the defrosting cycle some water can (over time) dribble down into the drip tray at the bottom which does build up over time; and as Gaff said (as I was going to say, again ) leaving the door open will generate a large slab pretty quickish.

Hmm - mines been running for 3 years n no ice buildup yet - also its impossible to leave the doors open as an alarm goes off - modern fridge/freezers are no fun :p

Well the only bonus to wireless is freedom of movement & wires. If neither of those are an issue, wired is always going to be preferable. Faster, more reliable, more secure, more straightforward etc.

My mobile automatically switches over to my wireless network when im home and makes calls VIA VOIP. There are a hell of a lot more applications for wireless than wired (moreso for business now, but heading that way for home too).

I've 802.11N, speed is pretty close to what you will get on a gig wired network. security is only an issue if the person setting it up makes it an issue, but i suppose yes this does prove your point of being more straight forward, probably cheaper too (although i hope i wil save money in the long run).

sorry for going off topic and being a bit geekish

Hey I'd never argue against having a wireless network, but when it comes to my main PC and a few other stationary devices I'd always choose wired over wireless. The phone making calls via VOIP on your wireless is pretty cool though :).

Exactly. I haven't ditched the wireless. I have merely made all the stationary networked devices operate on a wired basis.
My desktop, Lou's desktop, my PS2 etc are all now wired. I've got a Netgear DG834G wireless ADSL router and it's done a fine job for years. The thing is I stream a fair bit of video round the house and over wireless, or even those Ethernet-over-power adapters I find it's not quite fast enough. You get the odd stutter here or there and that's just with standard def stuff. I'm thinking of getting a PS3 after christmas so intend to stream HD video to my telly which will most definitely benefit from a wired network.

This is what i meant.

Wireless has some big opportunities in it, and certainly will see upgrades and big leaps in coming years, but for "home entertainment", i'll always go wired :)

Don't apologise, my geek side is now curious as to what phone it is you've got.
